Zimbabwean Crypto Exchange Has Launched Its ICO

Today's report has to do with Golix, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Zimbabwe. About two weeks ago, I posted how Golix fought against the ban placed on Cryptocurrency-related activities and transactions in the Zimbabwe and had it Overturned

Zimbabwean Cryptocurrency exchange, Golix has launched its token known as Golix (GLX) token as it looks to expand or extent its services to other African countries.

William Chui, lead of special projects at Golix says:

From the onset, our main agenda has been to provide financial autonomy in Africa to Africans. The GLX token is going to be used to facilitate and realize this agenda. The GLX token will be used to trade with other altcoins on the exchange, all this will be done at zero transaction fees.

The token sale is now live on the Golix token sale website. This token is an Ethereum ERC20 token and currently been sold at $0.05612. This is ICO is in a bid to finance the establishment of their infrastructures across Africa and the ICO is set to end on July 25th.

William Chui also added:

The GLX token will also be used to facilitate remittances and international payments at lesser fees, compared to current banking method. This cascades immensely towards the contribution of GDP growth in African countries.

Golix Cryptocurrency exchange was also launched in South Africa in April and it has now announced that it has extended the exchange to Uganda and Kenya.

Panashe Tapera, head of Golix had this to say in an interview:

People in Kenya, South Africa and Uganda will be able to start transacting on Golix. This is one of our plans to be the leading Cryptocurrency exchange in Africa, inspired by our vision of providing financial autonomy on the continent.

As for now, Golix is standing tall in Africa and I hope they continue to influence Cryptocurrency adoption in Africa.
