[AAA Chapters Review] Black Mirror: Nosedive (S03E01)
After my first review in Triple A I wanted to take a tour through some of my favorite series and chapters, so I immediately thought that the next should be Black Mirror, however I was thinking for a while if the review/criticism should be global or objective, ie if I should make a review of the whole the series or as what the series really is, a conjunction of chapters that come together to form a global element. Finally, I decided on this last style, so I walked again through the best chapters and ended up deciding for this one.

Black Mirror: Nosedive (S03E01)
This is one of the clearest and most critical chapters of the entire series, because it transports us to a world ruled not only by technology but by the opinion that others have of us, a world where everything revolves around the reputation we have in a kind of social network that controls the level of acceptance of everyone. A level of acceptance that is even more influential than any kind of social position or economic level.
This is a clear critique of what we currently see on social networks, where a lot of people are acclaimed for the engagement power they possess, no matter who they really are. A power of influence that they protect more than their life, because basically it is worth more and for which they would be able to do anything.

Throughout the chapter we see how the world has become totally artificial and plastic, full of superficial things that govern the behavior of people, no one acts intuitively and on the contrary all actions are driven by a kind of script that you must follow to take care of your reputation. A world that will make us fall into emptiness if we do not have a good "reputation", to the point of being considered criminals or outcasts. However, we also see the happiness behind that reputation, we see what happens when we really begin to live regardless of the labels or opinions of people.
This is undoubtedly a chapter that I highly recommend watching, especially for those who need a little de-programming of the influence that social networks have on their lives.

Nice review! This is one of my favorite Black Mirror episodes, too. What a scathing takedown of the role social media plays in our lives,.

I loved this episode one of my favourites in fact. It was shot in Cape Town and my friend is actually seen as one of the extras in the show lol. Sadly this isn't even that far fetched we see it every day and now China has its own social scoring system.
It really shows how the obsession with quantifying everything removes our humanity and how it forces us to conform to certain unnatural standards. It starts with good intentions but removes personal responsibility and critical thinking and becomes a crutch society uses to limp on instead of improving the way we interact
