The Diary Game || 29-04-24 || Staying Fit With 4 Steemians, A business meeting and Steemit Mentorship

Dear Diary,

It was another day to face life's anxieties to the full and I started my balancing up with workout/fitness with some steemians. There was something so interesting about this particular workout. Time constraint and increased userbase of those who got attracted to the training from the flex made.

My day was balanced no doubt and I did a lot of writing that had my nerves and thumb crazy. There's no better way to end a day than watching an interesting movie that teaches life's lessons. Want to know the narrative? It's spelt out here.

Going for workout

My morning was well filled by the morning breeze that tossed me like an egg. I got up with the plans of going to workout center and also going to school. There were changes in some plans made so I thought of embarking on what would keep me energised first and fit to face whatever challenges that may come on the way. I was late though, I guess I was the last person there.

Everyone were present before 7Am in the morning and did some meditation/jogging before starting the day's programme. My able coach @ngoenyi was already there as motivator to start the programme. The materials used for all programmes that day are

  • fitness or step board
  • mats
  • Dumbbells

These were the three major materials available to start this programme. Our aim that day was to tackle our abdomen. We were to take it in, so the exercises done was strictly on that. Before our coach showed us the first programme, she spilled some knowledge to us. These were her words;

Hello everyone and good morning to you all. I warmly welcome you all to this new week. This week, we are going to focus on abdominal exercises

Abdominal exercises are a type of strength exercise that affect the abdominal muscles (colloquially known as the stomach muscles or "abs"). Human abdominal consist of four muscles which are the rectus abdomens, internal oblique, external oblique, and transversus abdominis

Benefits

  • Abdominal muscles play a crucial role in posture, support of the spine, balance, stability, and respiratory functions such as breathing.

  • Building strength and endurance in these muscles is essential as it creates benefits such as improved posture, reduced back pain, improved balance and stability and potentially assistance with breathing.

  • Many sports or strenuous activities require balance, stability and core strength. Abdominal workouts target these muscles and thus provide you with core strength whilst performing the activity

  • Abdominal exercises target these back muscles and the spine, making them more flexible and less rigid, thus reducing lower back pain.

These workouts also improve body posture when walking, standing or sitting, thus reducing the occurrence of back pain associated with poor posture. Try not to miss out this week.

Russian Twist and Mountain Climbing abs exercise

This wasn't the first programme that day but this was the first programme I captured as the media personnel in the team. The first was the **use of dumbbells to twist. It's called Russian Twists. We were to sit with our legs stretched and then paddle the dumbbell on both sides of our bodies as if we were paddling a canoe.

After doing this for turns, we took to doing the climbing mountain exercise. This was done by stretching with our hands on a deck on ground. And then move our legs forward and backward. Our coach set an example first by doing this. After showing us how to do this perfectly, we followed suit.

I wasn't captured as I am the media personnel. It was kind of tough for those who had fats in their body but they did sail through to the end of the programme. These are trainees doing this programme. While some did it with joy, other did so with pains. It is part of training or the learning process said our coach as she encouraged us to keep pushing.

Endurance Tests

This was done by lifting our legs up from the ground and then bringing it down 40 conservative times. It was actually difficult though but it was part of the learning process. These were the people present that day for this workout.

After this, we took to stepping on the fitness board with our legs lifted up to our abdomen and then stretched backwards. We were to feel this pain on our stomach and and hips. After this particular programme followed by a music that was tuned to the movements of our legs, we took to doing the main abs exercise which was the most difficult that day.

It needed real endurance. The task was **to sit on a step board on support and then stretching our hands backwards with our two legs taken up high and joint together. We were to hold this up for 30 seconds. This 30 seconds was more like an eternity because I felt the pain but had to endure. This is a picture of my coach who did this up first before we followed suit.

This is a picture of me trying to do the endurance abs test. I felt the pain on my abdomen as if it were going to break. I just needed to endure till the 30 seconds for good 10 rounds for done. Majority felt the pain and did it in a way that won't really make them feel this pain. They didn't really lift it up high as that was what prompted the pain.

The next endurance test was to stretch for minutes without standing up and what followed after this was squat which was another endurance test we did as the last programme.

To round it off, we did our usual balancing and the pictures are below. After the workout, I took to teaching @alli001 some tips in photographing and also play basketball with some trainees that were there. These are pictures of them learning how to dunk the ball.

A business Meeting with A Friend

I had a business meeting with my Boss after the workout. So I had to pay my way down to his office to meet him in person. On my way, I took to purchasing stomach things so I'll not disgrace myself with the grunting sound of my stomach during the meeting. This person I was going to meet physically is actually an online friend and I haven't met him in person.

We had some financially related to discuss about and the meeting was successful after several deliberations. Those working with him were actually expecting someone matured not until they saw me. I saw the fake smiles on their faces. They were even lucky to have a Boss that cares for them and treat them more like his brothers and sisters. I left with lessons from my Boss personality.

After all was said and done, I left to enter the market to purchase some things before going home. Things were really on the high and reduced in quantity. Just had to close my eyes to get these things.

On getting home, I did the needful and took to watching an interesting movie The island. This movie teaches a lot about injustices and how life's situations and environment should make you cautious of where to step your feet. These are screenshots from the movie on my video player

I ended my day by looking up at the assignments I gave my students and also trying to help a user who got lost along the line but is found. This is my diary entry.

Exercise is very good for the body and i really like the way you're keeping fit wvery morning by doing different exercises it will help you say fit and skso free from sickness.

Unlike me who just started going for morning workout i am noticed that things have been easy for me because it keeps me fit.
You did your fitness withe different people before attending an important meeting i admire you resilience.

You are an inspiration to many steeminans like us and i wish you more grace in this platform sir.
