The Great Alien Debate
As long as human civilization realized that we were only a small part of the galaxy and universe as a whole there has been the debate about intelligent life on other planets and whether or not it exists. Its been the topic of debate even between some of the greatest minds that have every existed and still common to this day. Without a doubt the debate will continue unless we actually meet intelligent life, or somehow we are able to discover that outside life doesnt exist.

People pretty much fall into two obvious camps, first that intelligent life exists out there somewhere or the second being they don't or else they would have visited us by now. When it comes to my personal opinion I tend to fall into the former category. I believe that statistically there are just too many galaxies and planets out there for some form of intelligent life to not exist. Our entire galaxy is still just a small grain of sand on an entire beach of possibilities. I just find it improbable that there is no life other than us out there.
On the flip side statistical probability is also what many say when they talk about why there is no intelligent life because the chances of a civilization being advanced enough to contact us is very good. I personally think there are many reasons a civilization wouldnt want to contact us. If you ask many people who believe we have been visited they might say that aliens have been watching us and observing us this whole time. I have no proof either way, im just talking about what some people may believe.

I think for me what it comes down to is there is a possibility that intelligent life might be somewhere galaxies away but lack the ability to travel the distance. For all we know they could have the ability to monitor us but if they are using light to do so they would be looking at our planet from millions of years ago or potentially before it was even created. If they do have to technology to monitor us in real time they might simply regard us as a barbaric civilization that still involves itself in wars and killing each other. We would have no idea what really is the case so we are all just speculation.
I think the speculation is fun and I have always enjoyed the endless amounts of science fiction that has come out of imagining what might be out there. I dont think anyone is wrong about what they believe, unless they believe the earth is flat, because we really have no good signs either way. We can estimate with the probability is for certain outcomes but these are only models. When it comes down to it, ultimately its just fun to speculate and maybe one day we can say for sure that there is or isnt intelligent life out there, but I don't think it will happen in our lifetimes. However maybe when we least expect it, one day we will be visited, hopefully by those who seek friendship rather than war.

We would all love for the first contact with intelligent life to be positive, but lets pray we are the ones that make the discovery and not the discovered.
Whenever I contemplate the Fermi Paradox it always leaves me to one answer, we are living in a relatively young universe and are lucky enough to be one of the first (thousands maybe) intelligent civilizations in our galaxy. But the positivity ends there as all forms of life fight for our finite resources, Aliens visiting us may be like kids taking candy from ants.
@calaber24p Great post, happy star-gazing!
Hey @calaber24p
Can you help a lot of people watch that video on my profile? It's a charity campaign.

Wow excellent technology .I impressed see this .Resteemit done.
You seem to be pondering Fermi's Paradox. I agree it isn't statistically impossible for us to be alone. Yet perhaps space itself is to vast and cannot be travelled. I hope that's not the case but it would explain why we've yet to see any other interstellar communities.
I think that it is hubris to think that humans are the onlg intelligent life in the universe.
Whether or not we have been visited by alien beings is another question altogether.
There are those who believe that life on earth was seeded by aliens, they tend to point to the ancient structures around the world and how the older portions are built with superior quality than the more recent additions.
Thay would likely be explained by being taught a masted process and then the gradual forgetting of the techniques.
I agree, at most we can speculate, but i prefer to think that the universe is abundant with life.
There was an interesting article recently that suggested that most habitable-zone exoplanets could be considerably more massive than Earth, making them much harder for a potential alien civilization to leave. Their gravity would be higher, and that has a magnified affect on rocketry because a rocket has to carry its fuel with it.
I'm not sure that totally holds water - after all there are theoretical ways into orbit besides rockets - but it seemed like something worth thinking about on this question.
Hopefully they dont come to take our cryptos lol
I believe they are already amongst us
Excellent article @calaber24p, we have always felt that insertity, will we really be alone on this universe? What will he do on the other side of the galaxy? Thank you for all the support and wisdom that contributed to this beautiful community. God bless you always.

I think like that too. There are a lot of planets out there and it's very normal to get other beings. And these science fictions make us think that they want war. But, if it was true, we wouldn't live so long I guess!! Good writing. All d best.
