With my temporary settings, the power from the grid is cut off when sufficient power from the solar power is enough for the power load.

The inverter has an app and it makes you see animation from where the power comes from. If the power from the solar panels/inverter is insufficient, it will take power from the grid to meet the needs of the load. This is just temporary setting until we have an active net metering service.

It was overcast yesterday here in my neck of the woods until in rained a little later in the afternoon but even with cloudy day, the production of power by the solar panels are good enough to run two airconditioner system, one in my room ad the other one in my parent's room.

I had no plant yesterday to open the A/C until my brother messaged me to open them both to see how the solar panels will provide electricity when a load is given. So with an app I can see how the solar panels work by looking at the visual representation on how the solar panels gives power, so when the clouds get darker and not much sunlight is going to the said panels, the inverter would allow the power from the grid to contribute.

So for now the Solar panels will only provide power when there is a load if there is sunlight but when it gets dark, the inverter system will take power from the grid and that is what was setup temporarily by the contractor until we get the net metering service to go live which is when the additional meter is installed by the power company I assume.

When that happens, the solar power contactor will switch the solar panels or the inverter system from limited to full function. So in the app I will begin to see how many credits we earned from the production of power, how much is given to the grid in real time. It is so nice to have such a way to get free power from the Sun because it does improve the quality of life especially when the capacity is higher and the only thing that is a problem will be if there are prolonged days when the Sun is not shining.

I heard on the news that the La Niña phenomenon will happen or is already happening which will cause more rains and it will mean more cloudy skies. It is the opposite of El Niño where it is always hot and there are widespread drought. Regardless we will still enjoy our solar power system with net metering because we have lots of solar panels in our roof and all it takes is that when we get many sunny days, we can use every power it will generate to give us credits. I just hope that there will be more sunny days ahead because the weather is so crazy right now, it is not like this weather years before because of the climate change.
