Attending the Wedding of Childhood Best Friend!

Hello to the community, It's been a while!

Last week was a very special one for me, as I attended the wedding of my best friend in my childhood. We were just 5 years old when we met, and at that were inseparable. We were in the same class and did so many crazy things together. Even at the holidays, we were in one another's homes. So, it's after 20 years, and I got lucky to witness his happiest day of life!

Madhuka and I got into two classes from Grade 06, and then to different streams in the A/L s, and living in two different cities right now. But the bond we shared as kids, remains in our hearts forever. So, we keep getting together once in a while.

They are love birds from school, and it's more than 12 years now. Through ups, and downs in their journey, they reached to the next step of their life.

It was 24th of February, and just now I got the chance to share about the special day.

The Poruwa ceremony was scheduled at 10.30 a.m., and the location was Grean Paradise Hotel, Wellawaya. It's not far away from my home, so it was a bit comfortable for me.

They have planned it as an one-day function from both parties. So, there was a big crowd, including family members, friends, neighbours, etc. I reached the hotel at around 10.45 a.m, and the couple had already arrived and the ceremony was already started.

The place is a new hotel, and now it's one of the biggest in the area. It's well maintained, and beautiful designed as well.

The poruwa ceremony was arranged in the outdoor. When we arrived, as the ceremony was ongoing we were greeted by some of the family memebers, and invited for the morning tea table.

There were many traditional food items; milk rice, dodol, kawum, kokis, banana, etc. Everything was delicious.

When the happy couple arrived to the great hall, I congratulated them and blessed them. It was very lovely to see this perfect couple in Traditional Sri Lankan outfits; Kandyan sarre, and The Mul Anduma or the Nilame Costume.

There were many school friends, and as the start we took the photographs in the morning.

Then we have to rush to drinking area. 😂😂

It's been a while, and boys had so much to share. About personal events, politics, and etc. We were there for few hours, and went to lunch.

It was pretty decent with many items, starting from Fried rice, noodles, chicken devel, and many curry items, etc. Actually I enjoyed its taste and the combination. Then we had a small dance time as well.

There were a few surprise dances and the couple also joined us.

So, it was a wonderful ceremony, and could have a great time.

Once again, I wished the couple Happy wedded life, with love and laughter.
