Reduce voting weight?
Hello my friends and family in Steem blockchain. For those who have been following my blog for awhile will notice I have not been writing about voting weight and curation reward. Today, I am back with a short sequal.
Delegations(outgoing)
The recent structure of my outgoing delegation as above. Majority of them haven't change except @justyy I have increased extra 100sp to the bank. But later I found it wasn't too effective anyway after 600sp. I'm not saying the YY bank is bad, but I really don't have the time to create so many post just to get my upvote back in a day. Recently increased new comer which I really wish to helped them. I started with @robertyan a few weeks ago when he has trouble posting, and since Robert now got his own delegation, he is kind enough to inform me to collect my delegation. I am very happy he did that. @lovelemon is another person which is in my home country, which I felt I had the obligation to help her since I like her writing. Followed by another new comer @sungod88 which I think these people will really bring good quality content to the blockchain and continue to grow. Other than real person, I also delegated 15sp for a new initiative in the #cn community to @cn-voice which is an initiative to help #cn community to build up a new singing/music/voice channel so people can blog with more than writing, and to include their musical or voice talent.
Upvotes diversity
Let's talk about upvotes. I have been upvoting up to 76 accounts over the last whole week. I'd like to thank #esteem brought me to a new territory of CURATION. I finally get to meet(not exactly meet, but an online proximate accuintance) with @futuremind, which I heard a lot of good things of this person from @lilacse. Now that I found how important "education" via commenting is utmost important for curator. Seeing a comment that changed a person perspective in posting is really good. I will try to increase my voting diversity further! Do take note, so far still 0% self vote.
Dilemma
We all know, not everyone posting everyday. We also know, some people literally posting every hour. If I don't vote, my voting power will go maximum and start to waste at idling. If I voted a post from an author earlier, then later if I seen another post I liked from the same author, does that mean I skipped voting? On the other hand, if I lower my voting weight, what will they think of me? And if I wanted to expand my voting diversity, the only way to do is reduce my voting weight and properly spread it to everyone that I wanted to support. Another problem is, if I split it too low % for each account, which also mean that I may tarnish my curation rewards. Note that it's quite impossible for me to vote the most optimum timing everytime.

I know, and I totally got the idea of "support". Can you help me answer these questions:
- If I have not been supporting you, would you atleast be pleased if I give you a 15% upvote?
- If I have been supporting you 60% upvote, what would you think if I reduce it to 15%?
- If you're the high production guy(that post more than 2 times a day), what do you think if I set an auto upvote for maximum 2 upvotes a day and stop reading your post in the future?

If you haven't been supporting a person, then that person should be greatful to anyone that reads and comment and upvote their post.
If you decide to reduce you upvote to that person, it means you still want to support that person. You're not obliged to upvote anyone at any % here, be it 100% or 1%
If you want to spread you love around, why double it to one person when there are so many people out there?
I know I haven't actually answered your question, but I think there's a very thin line between supporting and not supporting the masses. It's great if you are a whale and 0.1% upvote still registers ie >0.01. Not many are in that fortunate position and when I see people with 100SP and upvoting at 10%, that really begs the question is that supporting someone or what?
ps and I know my comment will piss a lot of people off. C'est la vie
True enough, especially the last part. For minnow I think it's alright, like of I care. Wait until you see people who has a dolphin worth of SP, but delegated 99% out for vote seller. And the only time we see them upvote will be like 50% weight but only worth 0.000 😂

哈哈，有点类似福利经济学，政府的福利制度的设置也需要考虑福利的数量和质量的平衡。
很重要的一点是需要确定发放福利的动机是什么？是为了整个社区的均衡性，还是让优质内容可以凸显，还是仅仅是扶贫？不同动机之间存在一些冲突和矛盾。
如果要系统化来做恐怕需要结合算法（类比于法律）和人工审查的方式，仍然有很强的人工设计的意味，但可以根据朋友们的反馈、或结合数据应用机器学习，来改进效果。
具体实现时，一个难点可能在于如何降低人工评价作品质量的成本和提高评价的公正性。

基本上，這跟共產黨沒有啥分別。你好，我好，他好，大家好。問題在於，我的能力只有這麼多，能幫助的只有這麼一點人。如果還想點贊更多，就會力不從心，點贊力越來越小，到最後連自己哪一份都拿不回了。
當然，可以大條道理說反正支持別人，還談自己的利益幹嘛？要不換句話說，如果我一直幫助別人，自己不能壯大，有一天被幫助的人長大了，我還停留在那原地踏步，那麼有意思嗎？
在這區塊鏈裡我學會了，照顧別人就是照顧自己。現在問題在於，我很久沒有真正去看一下身邊被我支持的人，有新人有舊人。很多舊人已經變成新人，基本上都是自顧擼毛。很多新人都已經開始變舊人，比方說你。我還以為你還是剛開始不夠 RC 玩。現在都一下子變大了😂

秉持互利的原则肯定没错的，这使得对新人的支持更有可持续性。
找到需要帮助的人、值得帮助的人，并且追踪他们的发展，这也是新手村的目的吧。可能采用类似mentor的机制，把每个人的贡献更透明化也是一种玩法。

I think our posts are likely read more often then we realize. There used to be a view count on posts, but it was removed some time ago, and I'm not entirely sure why. I'm trying to improve my commenting, but it's certainly not easy. I find myself pressed on time to keep up with what I consider to be obligations or duties, and it really makes it difficult to comment on everyone's posts. I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one with this conundrum!
To address the main context of your post here, yes I totally get how you are feeling right now! There are so many variables to consider when managing your VP, and it's especially hard with low VP. When you consider the implications of utilizing VP in terms of self reward, via self vote or maximizing curation, the choice is easy enough for me; to not self vote, however I don't think maximizing your curation rewards as a means of rewarding yourself for your hard work is a bad thing! I think those who understand the system on a deep level, also understand this. The basis of your morality seems to be built on top of empathy towards others. I think this is amazing, and the more your account grows, the easier it become for you to spread the love, while ensuring growth. So I see it, as correct intent, and a win for everyone! Some might not see it this way, and that is ok, we live in a world of varying perceptions and opinions.
Above all else, the fact that you are being transparent with your thoughts, and taking the time to share with the community speaks volumes to your character!

The view count is a front end counter by own dApp preference. I notice Stinc removed it when many dApp started to float around(Steemit was the only dApp back then). To put it this way, if you read a post and watch the video directly on dtube, Steemit will have no view count at all. Nowadays with @partiko, there's even worst for Steemit to catch up. I used to have less than 20 view count, but my upvote count has always been close to 100 and I always wondering why🤣
And yes, you have said it. I can vote myself and nobody is going to say I'm wrong. My point is, if I self vote, I will be missing Amy more opportunities to vote for others! Imagine if I split a self vote to 25%, I can use that to send love to 4 other person instead of "self love" one time with a giant orgasm. And again, no point to partial self vote also. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying self vote bad or whatsoever. I'm merely telling you why I choose not to self vote.

Thank you for explaining the concept dApp preference in a way which helped me understand it a bit more clearly. I thought it might have something to do with this.
Yes my thoughts are well in line with yours. I enjoy rewarding people for their work and efforts, displays of arts and vulnerabilities, things that take outright courage. It's an enjoyable experience to feel like you are earning your rewards. With the idea of curation, you are rewarded for imposing your agree-ability for greater reward to the author. It's a win/win. There's just no need for a self vote in this kind of a system. Some people are only in it for the money. You clearly, are in it for the people :)
