Contest: My neighborhood watch #44 Reporting events around us
Greetings everyone, I am so delighted to be back here posting again on this platform. I left for some weeks due to the platform policy. I really want to appreciate the contest organiser and the community for being consistent.
I will be sharing events and happenings around my neighborhood, early this year the economy of my country went hyper suffering really hard because of inflation. Inflation is the state when the price level of goods and services rise, here much money will be pursuing fewer goods.
My neighborhood is suffering everyday because of the increase in price of goods and services, the price changes every day and this alone gets everyone questioning the reason behind such. Most people say dollar exchange rate is the main reason behind price increase but I totally disagree with it because the price of commodities still increase after dollar low exchange rate.
I went to the market some days ago to get wheat and garri for consumption, I was actually suffering all round the market because of the rapid increase in the price of both commodities. Lastly I called up my parent to send additional money to purchase those commodities.
Garri went to #500 for two cups being 2steems for it, my question is.. is dollar also affecting our home made food?
Most families are really suffering alot nowadays because of how bad the economy is. Pitying the salary earners who gets #30,000 every month, how will they survive when foodstuffs in a day can actually cost 5k to prepare small portion.
It was really funny to me that I went there with #20,000 and couldn't purchase all what I had on my list, the bag was looking so empty after full purchase. The government really urge the citizens to acquire farmlands to grow and plant crops for huge harvest.
The citizens took that so serious putting in all thier investment and time in farming. They grow crops, legumes and grains inorder to fight inflation.
I know and believe that everything will go smoothly well like before in due time. Appreciating the community and steemians for going through my post 😍

Hello, my friend, I am thrilled to see that you have put your hands in the soil to see that the situation in the country is set to the barest minimum. This situation is affecting everyone that sometimes I think being born in Nigeria is a mistake, our politicians are enjoying they are not feeling it, I just believe that thing will get better, I can't loose, I am still young to exercise patience.
