Hi fellow steemians, welcome to my blog. Here I will be writing on this interesting topic; Dealing with Anxiety. Thanks to @sahmie who initiated this contest for us to have the knowledge about anxiety.

Humans are prone to issues and are surrounded with lot of tensions whether at home, office, school, environment or in the family. Many at time we found ourselves in a stressful situation that have resulted to physical or mental disturbances. Now, let’s look at what Anxiety is...

Anxiety are emotions that is accompanied by fear, uneasiness and dread that can cause feeling of restless, tension, sweat and increase in blood pressure. For example feeling anxious or nervous when tackling a problem whether at work, school or in the family. When anxiety goes beyond normal, it is called Anxiety disorder
Anxiety disorder is a mental condition that involves repeated and irrational apprehension, resulting to panic attack that interferes with daily activities.

Causes Anxiety disorder
Anxiety disorder is idiopathic that is it has no exact cause but many factors contribute which include:

  • Psychological trauma such as poor financial status, loss of love ones, poverty, unemployment, rejection, disappointment etc.
  • Environmental influences e.g. Peers pressure
  • Age related factor
  • Family upbringing such as over protection, rejection, attitude of erratic
  • Life issues
  • Hereditary
  • Body constitution
  • Medical conditions

Effect of Anxiety disorder
The effect of Anxiety disorder differs from person to person which include;

  • Anorexia
  • Loss of weight
  • Inability to engage in business
  • Frigidity in females
  • Decrease libido in male
  • Increase in blood pressure
  • Palpitation

Tips on how to manage Anxiety disorder are listed below

  • Engage in physical activities such as exercise
  • Reduce stress
  • Take holiday
  • Encourage fluid intake and eat healthy food
  • Avoid alcohol consumption
  • Get enough sleep.

In conclusion, anxiety comes up on daily basis but our state of mind is more important and essential in facing the reality of life. Inculcate the habit of facing the challenges of life with less or no fear.
