Eight years on Steemit - Freestyling, strumming and singing through the ups and downs

in Dance and music show6 months ago (edited)

Dear dance and music lovers

Today marks a significant milestone – eight years since I joined Steemit.com and began sharing my dance, music, and singing videos with the world. It’s been a ride of spontaneous moves, heartfelt strums, and soulful melodies. So, grab some popcorn and get ready for the tale of my artistic journey through the highs and lows of Steemit.

When I first joined Steemit, I was thrilled by the idea of a platform where I could share my dance improvisations and music. No rehearsals, no routines – just pure, unfiltered expression. I posted my first video with the excitement of a kid showing off their best dance moves and guitar riffs at a party. I imagined it would go viral overnight. Spoiler: It did not.

Those early days were rough. I poured my heart and soul into each video, only to be met with silence. Picture this: me, dancing my heart out solo in the park, strumming my guitar, singing my favourite songs in the living room, posting it on Steemit, and then... nothing. Not a single comment, like, or upvote. It felt like performing on a stage in an empty theatre.

But I wasn’t ready to give up. Dance, music, and singing are my passions, and sharing them brings me joy. So, I kept posting, hoping that somewhere, someone would appreciate my unique style.

Every once in a while, a brave soul would wander onto my post and leave a comment. “Cool moves!” or “Great song!” they’d say, and it felt like a standing ovation. I treasured those rare comments, each one a small reminder that my art wasn’t entirely invisible. It was these tiny glimmers of appreciation that kept me going.

Then came the day I accidentally went viral. I posted a video of myself improvising a dance routine in the park, strumming my guitar, and singing a spontaneous tune in the living room – just me, the music, and the open sky. For some reason, this video caught on. Maybe it was the spontaneity, the natural setting, or the sheer joy of the moment. Whatever it was, it got more views and upvotes than all my previous posts combined. It was a small victory, but it felt huge.

The journey has been a rollercoaster, with more valleys than peaks, if I’m honest. Some days, it felt like I was shouting into the void. But here’s the thing: I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Each post, each dance, each song, and each moment of doubt has been a part of my journey. I’ve learned to perform not just for an audience, but for myself. I’ve embraced the joy of creating and sharing, even if the world doesn’t always respond.

Despite the lack of overwhelming support from the Steemit community, I’ve found rewards in unexpected places. I’ve grown as a dancer, musician, and singer, experimenting with new styles and pushing my creative boundaries. I’ve connected with a few fellow artists who understand the struggle and share their passion. And most importantly, I’ve stayed true to my love for dance, music, and singing.

As I celebrate this eighth anniversary, I’m filled with a mix of gratitude and determination. Gratitude for the journey so far, and determination to keep dancing, strumming, and singing. Who knows? Maybe the next video will finally get the recognition it deserves. Or maybe it won’t. Either way, I’ll keep performing.

To anyone out there who has watched, liked, or commented on my videos – thank you. Your support, no matter how small, means a lot to me. And to my fellow Steemit creators, keep going. Even when the applause is scarce, remember why you started. Dance, play, sing, create, and share your passion because the world needs more of it.

Here’s to eight years on Steemit and many more to come. Let’s keep freestyling, strumming, and singing through the highs and lows, one spontaneous move and melody at a time. 💃🎸🎤
