There are four seasons all over the world, but there are six seasons in India. Our country is unique among all other countries. The land of our country, India, is very special for its natural beauty and different weather. Sometimes winter, rain, and sometimes the summer season make India unique in itself.

The biggest reason for changing weather is the Earth's tilt on its axis by 23.5 degrees. Apart from this, the Earth has different distances from the Sun at different times. It also plays a role in climate change. But the main reason is its inclination.

There are a few other factors, like how the winds affect the weather conditions. The tilt of the Earth on its axis and the position of the sun are also responsible for different weather.

The seasons in India are like guests and all seasons are important here and all guests are welcomed as we welcome them as our gods. We say "Atithi Devo Bhava" (the guests are our gods) so we welcome our seasons like we welcome our guests.

We make many preparations before the arrival of a guest, similarly, we make preparations with full gusto to welcome the seasons as they come because they bring something different as they arrive. When the weather changes, the preparation for the changes begins, and the arrangements according to the changes begin.

The season is divided into six different weather parts. India has six seasons, each about two months in duration. The spring season, summer, monsoon season, autumn, winter, and prevernal season. Every season brings a different joy and enthusiasm among the people.

We have different types of cultures in India, from north to south and east to west. The same is true for weather and seasons in India, like in different cultures. A special season divides a year into several segments.

Spring season

Spring is considered the king of all seasons. In this season, it is neither too hot nor too cold. New flower buds bloom in the spring season after autumn. A different enthusiasm is seen in the mind during this season. The spring season occurs in March–April.

In the spring season, the weather remains pleasant in North India. It is mildly cold in many places, while it is hot in South India. The main reason for this is the warming of the land in the Deccan Plateau, mainly in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and the adjacent northern interior of Karnataka.

Summer

The sun's rays fall vertically on the equator, i.e., at zero degrees latitude, throughout the year. During summertime, it shifts towards 23.5 degrees north latitude in the Northern Hemisphere, due to which the temperature increases in the Northern Hemisphere, and there is a summer season here.

It is clear from the name itself that summer means the hot season. In this season, the sun god showers his blessings on the earth. In this situation, the days are long and the nights are short. This season lasts in May and June.

Rain

Rain is called a monsoon. Many parts of India receive heavy rainfall during the monsoon. The season brings different amounts of rainfall to different parts of India.

The word monsoon was originated by Arab sea traders and later came to be known as the monsoon. In common language, a monsoon is a kind of wind, that changes direction according to the season and causes rain.

In India, rain starts with the arrival of the monsoon. The monsoon reaches the south Indian state of Kerala first. Usually, the date of its arrival in Kerala is June 1st. In India, there are two types of monsoons: the summer monsoon and the winter monsoon.

Despite several scientific and technological developments in India, our dependence on monsoon rains to make agricultural activities successful has not been reduced. The climate of India belongs to the "Tropical Monsoon Class," which reflects its influence on the tropical belt and monsoon winds.

Although a large part of the country lies north of the Tropic of Cancer, which falls in the northern temperate zone, India has a unique climate due to being surrounded by the Himalayas and the Indian Ocean to the south.

Autumn

The heat of the weather reduces slightly in autumn.
It is clear from the name itself that winter means cold. In this season, the nights are long and the days are short. Winter in India begins in November and lasts until February. It brings cooler temperatures and pleasant weather across the country, barring parts of south India.

The northern regions experience temperatures in the range of subzero to approximately 20 °C. A few north Indian states experience mild to heavy snowfall occurring in mountainous areas like Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Winter season

The season of severe cold is called winter. And this is my favorite weather. In this season, the weather remains pleasant in North India. It is still mildly cold in many places, while it is already hot in South India. The main reason for this is the warming of the land in the southern Plateau, mainly in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and the adjacent northern interior of Karnataka.

Every season has its specialty, but the summer season is unbearable for me. The summer is important for farmers, and it has its own unique fun and attractiveness.

During my childhood, I used to wait for the summer season because we had two months of holidays. Summer days are longer than winter days, so we used to play games and read stories in the afternoon.

But my work is outdoors, so now I don't like the summer season. The daytime temperature goes above 44 degrees Celsius. I have to take all measures to avoid the heat. I use AC at home and in the office and try to travel in air-conditioned vehicles, but this is not always possible in outdoor jobs. So I would like to skip the summer season.

We have six seasons and more than thirty different states in our country and different religions, so we have a festival every day. However, we celebrate all festivals together, and some of our main festivals include Eid, which was celebrated only yesterday. The Holy, which was celebrated last month, and holi, Guruparv, and Christmas are other major festivals.

However, I will tell you about a unique function that is celebrated by one and all from the Assam State of my country, which is known as Bihu. This year, it will be celebrated over two days, from Sunday, April 14, 2024, to Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Makar Sankranti is celebrated with great pomp in India in all parts of the country with different names. Bihu is celebrated on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in Assam. Bihu is celebrated for the ripening and preparation of crops. Bihu is considered a festival in which everyone, from children to old people, participates.

It is exactly like the Lohri of Punjab and Ugadi, which is celebrated on April 9th, 2024, and signifies the new year for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. In this too, fire is lit and sacrifice is made. People gather near the fire and express their happiness by singing and dancing.

If you want to watch this dance form, here is a short video

Bihu begins on the day of Lohri. It is called Uruka. On this day, everyone takes a dip of faith in holy rivers and lakes. After this, a camp of straw is made in a public place near a river or lake. This camp, or hut, is called Bhelaghar. A feast is organized at this place on the night of Uruka. People mostly eat vegetarian food, which is first offered to God.

All the people present then gather around and offer food items as per their convenience and wishes in the fire. People dance and sing on this occasion. In the end, pray for good and prosperity from God. The next day, they sprinkle the ashes of Meji in their fields. It is believed that this increases the fertility of the fields. And it has no religious differences, as people from every religion participate based on their beliefs.

India is home to foods, and Indians prepare thousands of varieties of foods on a daily basis, so specifying a seasonal food is almost impossible, but since you have asked for a particular food, I will describe the most popular food of Indians, which is prepared in all parts of India with different names.

I think Kheer, Sheerni, Senvayi, and Payasam are a few names equivalent to Kheer. Kherr, Sheerni, or Payasam is a sweet dish prepared using milk, rice, almonds, cashew nuts, raisins, fruits, and whatnot.

So quite interesting to really learn about the seasons in India. Wow this is also fascinating to hear that we have different seasons across the world in different seasons. Take for example countries like Nigeria, we only have three major seasons which are the rainy season, the dry season and the Harmattan season. I guess those types of seasons didn't actually exist in India because for India to have six seasons, wow that is fascinating and trust me also. I am really looking forward to the day I will visit the country of India and actually explore their season and weather condition out there. I feel it will be much more hotter in India than how it is cold or what do you actually think?

By the way thank you so much for sharing this quality information as I was able to learn a lot from this post

Thank you, I am myself planning to visit Nigeria one day. In fact, while sitting at Doha airport for a long time due to the unavailability of flights during COVID time I was toying with this idea. Thank you once again for your visit.

Woe gentleman what a detailed exploitation and you can see the author's enthusiasm in this content, a lot of sense of identity as it should be. You know I have read several contents of India in the challenge and this is the most complete, without belittling the others.

The fact that they have 6 stations wow leaves me speechless, here we only have two. I see that they are prepared to submerge them all because it is their way of life, the monsoon plays a prominent role for agriculture.

India is a country admired for its traditions, its beauty in natural resources and all this thanks to these seasons too, ideal that the balance is maintained because when it is broken these catastrophes arise that nobody wants.

A very nice tour, India as I commented to another user seduces, reading this I fall more in love with this country.

Dear, Your country is located next to India as well as our country. Being geographically side by side, the seasons are almost the same. Our country also has six seasons. My favorite season is spring. Plants grow new leaves in the spring season. Flowers bloom on trees. I avoid summer season because climate change causes a lot of heat and natural calamities. Your writing is very beautiful. Good luck to you.

Thanks bro, I know India and your country are located side by side and once used to be the same. Also, I have been to your country one and a half times, once officially and once when going by steamer to the Sundarbans. I am willing to visit again when I return to India.

¡Holaaa amigo!😊

@dove11
Really nice to read your post very interesting your post in every way you have told about the beauty of your country and its seasons that your country also has four types of seasons and Every season happens with its own characteristics, comes in its own time and goes in its own time, just like the spring season in the country where the spring season is found, I think the country is less than a blessing. No, because it is a blessing that adds to the beauty of this country and something special about your country.Traditional foods are served on these traditional festivals and traditional costumes and clothes are used which makes them even more unique and special.
