American pride falls to record low... says CBS

in #politics6 years ago

I suppose that CBS is tired of not being equated to a purveyor of fake news on the level that CNN and MSNBC are and in order to jump up in the ranks they will do a rigged poll and then present it as truth in a stupid article that doesn't even mean anything at all.

Sophie Lewis, who is yet another journalist that writes almost exclusively anti-Trump pieces and helps to piece together the incoherent babbling of Joe Biden in an attempt to pump his numbers decided to take a stab at invalidating Independence Day and suggesting that Americans are not proud to be Americans.

She is aware that people don't read anything other than headlines and while she did exercise some journalistic integrity by putting actual information inside her article, it is hidden well past the point that most people who would bother to read this drivel would make it to anyway.

To call this person objective would be as big of a lie as most of her articles: Her own profile features the following characteristics that she put up there: She is "anti-work", she wants to abolish the family, and she is "a queer feminist committed to cyborg ecology and anti-fascism." These are her words, not mine. I don't even know what most of that means.

So anyway, in her anti-America piece she paints a picture of how Americans are not proud to be American but then once you get past her glum opinion at the beginning where she does everything she can to paint a horrible impression we get to the meat and potatoes of the argument where she (probably reluctantly) admits that the pride level is at 70% and this statistic was taken in what is a profoundly stupid poll done by Gallup a YEAR AGO . It is also worth noting that Gallup has a reputation for skimming numbers until it has a desired political result (generally left-leaning) anyway.

This information is a year old so why did this almost certainly perpetually complaining whinge bag decide to release the article on July 5th? I suspect this is because a great deal of the country took to the streets in defiance of stay at home orders in order to celebrate with BBQ's, fireworks, and general merriment while she was almost certainly at home, alone with her cats, judging everyone for having fun while she is miserable in her Philadelphia apartment.

Sophie, you are too predictable and you are not a journalist. You are an activist with an agenda and a very strange agenda at that. GTFOH with your bogus and very old information. I think next you should do a report about Covid but use statistics from July of 2019 and then there will be zero Covid cases!

You, your "reporting style," and your bio picture are all

Well that is a shame that she hates everything so much. When i hear about people like this i wonder if anything ever makes them happy.

i would guess that they are made happy by being around like-minded also miserable people. I wouldn't know how to even attempt to have fun with people like this and I know a few. It is hard work because you always have to be VERY careful about what it is that you talk about.

american pride isn't low in my community. This is likely another one of those polls where they call the type of people they know are going to give the results they are hoping for in the end. If 2016 political polls taught us anything it is that the polls are totally wrong. If i am ever called about a poll i will intentionally answer the opposite way that I actually feel... just to eff em up.

i have heard of other groups that are intentionally answering polls the opposite way that they actually feel. Data gathering is a huge business and if everyone did this, they might stop trying to quantify all of us.

I wouldn't say that I am super patriotic but this claim of being "ashamed" of being an American is an apologist BS opinion where i live (Thailand) and when i see the people saying this in the US, they tend to be from a very specific group or groups that have been whining and complaining since the 2nd week of Nov in 2016
