MUSIC FOR STEEM WEEK 13 - @esouthern3 and @cmp2020 “A Million Dreams”

We’re back! This week, our selection is “A Million Dreams” from the movie musical The Greatest Showman.

Choosing the Song

I really love all of the music from The Greatest Showman (the movie itself is a bit…underwhelming). The songs were written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, a songwriting duo known for writing the songs in Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen. As much as I love “This Is Me” and “Rewrite the Stars” and, well, all of the other songs, I found that “A Million Dreams” would be the best pick for me and @cmp2020.

About the Song

“A Million Dreams” is the second song in the soundtrack. The young P.T. Barnum begins the song, singing to his future wife Charity Hallett. He is of a lower economic class, but has big dreams of success. The song progresses through a montage of Barnum’s and Charity’s lives together, including their marriage and having two children. The adult Barnum is played by Hugh Jackman and adult Charity by Michelle Williams.
