Forgotten Nightmares: Silent Hill's Unused Monsters Discovered by a Modder

Silent Hill has many kind of horrid looking monsters that you will have to deal with throughout the game. Although not all of them are hostile, they still are disturbing. Which monster in Silent Hill games is the most creepy to you? That nurse with no face? The Twin Victims? Or that monstrous dog-the Wormhead? Out of many monsters in Silent Hill, they are creepy alright but they probably not as creepy as what a modder found; the monsters that has been hidden since 1999.

A modder called roocker666 (the name is just fit in with the topic) extracted Silent Hill's files using silentextractor tool and found something strange in it. Just like in the game, huh? You get into a room, see something strange, turns out it's a nope.
Where was I?

So using silentextractor tool you can see a folder called "char" which is where all the characters assets including the monsters and bosses are stored. But apparently, not all the assets in that folder appear in the game. roocker666 found 6 unused character assets that don't appear in the game. So roocker666 decided to put it in game and bam more nightmare for tonight.

A tongue-snake with a tongue. Perfect.

Two legged AT-AT.

What you see above called (in order) FRG which is appear to be a (giant) bizzare frog, BTFY as you can see is butterfly, EI that looks like a manta ray-dolphin creature, MKY-someone guessed is "monkey" although that don't look like monkey, SNK-not Shingeki no Kyojin, but roocker666 think that it's a snake, and the last is OST that almost looks like the Empire's AT-AT with only 2 legs.

These assets are not used in the game and by the look of the shapes it looked like these monsters design were not finished yet. But for some mysterious reason they remains in the game's files. Someone asked about it to the creatures' designer on Twitter but he said he don't have any comments on it. That's mystery for you. Have a sweet dream.

Fun fact:
Did you know that you can win the final boss fight instantly in Silent Hill 1? The final boss will die instantly if you don't have a single ammo on you when facing the final boss.
