Como uno de los problemas de la fotografía es presentar la escala, para poder apreciar las diferencias de tamaño, se me ocurrió que mi nieta mayor (de 8 años) era muy indicada para ayudar a ver la dimensión de las piedras, así que le pedí que se subiera. Ella es una niña bastante fuerte, con cierto entrenamiento en escalada y que le gustan todas las actividades extremas (eso lo heredó de su padre, mi hijo, no de su abuelo). Así que la niña, gustosa, acepto el reto.

As one of the problems of photography is to present the scale, to be able to appreciate the differences in size, it occurred to me that my older granddaughter (8 years old) was very suitable to help see the dimension of the stones, so I asked her to climb up. She is a pretty strong girl, with some training in climbing and who likes all extreme activities (she got that from her father, my son, not her grandfather). So the girl, gladly, accepted the challenge.

La solución la encontró la misma Nathy (mi nieta). Nos indicó a mi esposa y a mí que se iba a deslizar por la superficie tratando de hacerlo lo más lento posible, pero era inevitable que cayera desde cierta altura. Así que nos encomendó la tarea de atajarla cuando empezara a caer. Afortunadamente el asunto funcionó, logramos hacer la toma y Nathy tuvo su dosis de Adrenalina en la escalada.

The solution was found by Nathy (my granddaughter) herself. She told my wife and me that she was going to slide down the surface trying to do it as slowly as possible, but it was inevitable that she would fall from a certain height. So she gave us the task of catching her when she started to fall. Fortunately, it worked, we managed to get the shot and Nathy got his dose of adrenaline for the climb.

Todas las fotos fueron hechas con la Olympus E500. El proceso fue realizado con Photoshop CS4 a partir de archivos RAW. En el procesado básicamente lo que hago son ajustes de iluminación por zonas, para ello utilizo selecciones a mano alzada y las difumino con un filtro de desenfoque Gaussiano. Para acentuar el enfoque utilizo un filtro de paso alto con el modo de fusión luz intensa.

All the photos were taken with the Olympus E500. The process was done with Photoshop CS4 from RAW files. In the processing basically what I do is adjust the lighting by zones, for that I use freehand selections and blur them with a Gaussian blur filter. To accentuate the focus I use a high-pass filter with the intense light fusion mode.
