Observing Shab-e-Qadr: A Night of Devotion and Spirituality

in Hindwhale Community11 months ago

Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to share with you yet another day of my life and I hope you all will get time to read and know about one more day of my life and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.

Ramadan, the holiest month of the Islamic calendar, is coming to an end, and with it comes a number of highly significant rituals. Shab-e-Qadr is one of the most sacred nights, not only of Ramadan but of the entire Islamic year. It is considered to be equivalent to or even better than 1,000 months, and any good deed performed during this night earns the blessings and rewards of worship spanning over 1,000 months. It is a profoundly blessed period that Muslims across the globe eagerly anticipate, observing it with great devotion and adherence to rituals.

Today, I woke up very early in the morning, around 4 AM, making sure not to miss the pre-dawn meal. Without any hesitation or procrastination, I immediately performed ablution to purify myself for the religious rituals that were to follow. My parents were already awake and having their meal when my brothers and I joined them. After eating, I sat around the electric blower to warm myself before heading to the nearby mosque for the morning prayers.

These days, the atmosphere in the mosque early in the morning is quite different, as a large number of people can be seen offering prayers together. It is always a pleasing sight to witness such a strong communal presence, as we Muslims are encouraged to pray in congregation, increasing the likelihood of our supplications being accepted. After completing my prayer, I returned home to get some more sleep, as I hadn’t had enough rest during the night due to my habit of staying up late.

It was quite sunny in the morning, but over time, some clouds gathered, and the conditions became overcast in no time. I got ready for the office a little early today, as we had already been instructed to do so because a few bills needed to be sent to the Treasury for payment. According to a government order, the Treasury was directed not to entertain any bills after the afternoon today.

To ensure that all bills were sent to the Treasury for payment and that we booked all the expenditures allotted to us as part of the capital expansion, we spent some time checking all the bills—going through all the files, in fact—to ascertain that nothing was left behind. Some of my colleagues had already arrived by the time I reached the office, and it took us quite a while to accomplish the task, as we had to review 163 works executed during this year.

All the office staff left a little early today, around 3 PM, as it was a very important day in the Islamic calendar, and everyone was in a hurry to make preparations. We also left, and I first went to a nearby town to buy some essential food items needed at home. It took me quite some time there, as I got stuck in a traffic jam due to a large number of vehicles heading towards the famous Sufi saint’s shrine at Chrari Sharief. All the routes were occupied, and it was almost impossible to walk towards my destination.

After finishing my shopping, I headed back home and immediately got involved in preparations for breaking the fast. Late at night, the Isha prayers were scheduled for 10:30 PM. As Shab-e-Qadr was being observed, Muslims around the world were to remain awake throughout the night, praying and making supplications.

At night, I first offered the Isha prayers at the grand mosque of my village. After that, my friends and I headed towards the Sufi saint’s shrine at Chrari Sharief. Upon reaching there, I saw a huge crowd engaged in religious practices, making supplications, helping others, and sharing food. We stayed there until around 3 AM, after which we took a walk around the shrine before deciding to leave for home. And that is how I observed Shab-e-Qadr.

It was all about my day.Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
