Awurudu Shopping

Hope you all are doing good, and I hope Sinhalese and Tamil people are counting days for Sinhala and Tamil new year. Since we have come to the end of March my mother and I decided to do some shopping for Awurudu. We thought that it would be easier than doing this in April. Because when come to the April, all shops are crowded and we thought that it will be very difficult for shopping.

So, this weekend we went shopping. When thinking about a place for shopping for a low cost, the name Thilakawardene came to our mind. We went to nittambuwa branch since it was somewhat near to us. We thought that it would not be crowded. But when we went inside our hope became in vain. It was crowded than we thought.

Though I’m not a person who likes to shop in a crowded environment, I had to manage it because we cannot go back and also, we don’t have much time in upcoming days. We went here and there to find our preferred items.

First, we entered the ladies’ section to buy some clothes for us. Since it was a busy area, we had to fit on our selected items without going inside to fit on room. I have tried a blouse, t-shirts and a frock. My mother also tried some blouses. After selecting our clothes, we went to the shoe area to buy slippers for my mother. Considering the clothing area, it was not that much of busy section.

After that we went to buy t-shirts for my father and my mother. I think selecting clothes for male is not a difficult task and we only need to think about their preferred colors. So, after having those things we went to the cashier in the basement.

After having many struggles, we were able to come from the shop after spending nearly 1.5 hours in the shop. Normally I and my mother will not take too much time to buy things. Because we know if we did such a thing my father’s patience would exceed. I think it is a common problem for male party.

After having some food, we finished our roaming. In previous years I used to do shopping alone and select things for my family. I think I could be able to bring happiness to my mother. So, this is how we finished our Awurudu shopping in 2024.
