I miss freewrites.. where I would just write my random thoughts and feelings in a very uncensored, unplanned and exposed way.
To share - in a raw, honest and vulnerable way. Putting myself out there, either for me or possibly to connect with others.. a way to show them they aren’t alone in this world .. they aren’t alone in their journey, their thoughts or maybe even in their doubts and fears.
A way to tear down this picture of perfection we see in our society. To show that perfection is overrated... and that there is nothing wrong with being broken, even beautifully broken perhaps. And that there is nothing more beautiful than being real... and embracing all those things that make each one of us incredibly special.
To me freewrites were a way to do just that - share my journey... in an unfiltered way.
No worrying about formatting, grammar, topics or what people will think.
Just being me.. in a fully exposed way - writing things that only I can write, because I’m the only one who knows my story.
I miss freewrites, and I think it’s about time they make a comeback..

Thank you 😊 glad to be back. I agree, it’s a good creative space to experiment in.
I find photos always can speak much more eloquently than I ever could 🙃

I love this concept. I feel that in today's age, with IG, Facebook, Etc. There are so many times where it feels that the grass is just not green with our own side. I am not saying social media is bad, rather, I am saying it can be for the individual who only visualizes the edited nature of others lives as presented through social media. This prevents others from being vulnerable because everyone else seems so strong and together. As a healthcare professional I have a strong speculation that this assumption contributes to the higher levels of depression that we have seen quickly grow in the last 10-15 yrs.
Here is how I view vulnerability. Yes. Be vulnerable. The benefit to vulnerability is the exposure to potential growth. You learn when you can accept and identify where you are vulnerable. The identify of vulnerability leads to humility. Humility motivates Improvement on any front. Improvement leads to the journey of perfection. In that journey I think people find happiness.

I would be apprehensive to write completely unfiltered about something very personal about myself in such a public forum. I know that in itself is telling. I was debating whether to use a clever handle for my username to hide behind, but instead chose to use my real name because of how I intended to represent my real ideas as my real self here out of respect for the purpose of the project. But to go beyond topical discussions to a personal one is not something I am quite ready for now. Perhaps later...
Couldn't agree more. I miss doing them as well.
