My path to Crow

A few years ago my boss decided to hire a yoga instructor to come to our office and teach us yoga. She comes one day a week for one hour.

I took a selfie, while doing Crow at home! Thank God for voice activation on my phone 😉

This is me doing plank in my living room (yep, it's another selfie)

I had done yoga before, but I was never really consistent with it. Having my boss pay for it and having it scheduled, it soon became a weekly practice. Before I knew it I was loving it!

During the summer our intructor teaches at her house, where she has a pool. She puts her paddle boards in the pool so we can practice on her boards. It is so much fun, and cooling! You also get an extra workout, since you really need some core strength to move on those things!

This photo was taken with my phone by my instructor, Libby.

Each practice she has us do some sort of balance pose. I was really struggling with Crow, and one day it just all fell in to place!

Look at the bruises I got trying to do Crow!

This is a selfie of my step mom and I about to start yoga in San Diego, CA over looking the ocean (it's one of my favorite spots to practice).

My dad actually took this photo while we were practicing in San Deigo, CA (it's amazing to see how many people show up).

My favorite part of yoga (at least the kind my instructor teaches) is the Savasana (corpse pose), where you get to close your eyes and focus on your breathing. She normally has eye pillows for us, to help us relax even more. Sometimes she'll even give us a little aromatherapy.

That's me doing the dancer pose. Photo was taken by my instructor Libby. We did a forest yoga/hike/meditate practice. Here is Libby's website if you would like to learn more about her practice: www.wellnesswithlibby.com

I am by no means a "yogie", (whatever that even means...lol). I just love the way I feel while I'm practicing ❤
Namaste!

I would quite like to try yoga but feel like i might never recover from some of those positions :D You on the other hand look great and not at all tangled up

Ha! Thanks! That's what I thought before I started yoga.

Wow, hectic stuff but soo cool! That first selfie!!! How do you do that???

Practice, practice, practice! The strength grows with the practice.

I'm always talking about starting yoga, but I just never seem to get around to it. Yet I know I need to start, so will check out your friends site. Thank you.

You should give it a try! I have benefited so much from it!

What a wonder, sometimes I do some yoga routines. What you account for the pool is incredible. keep practicing.

Thanks for stopping by @marpa!

Awesome! Yoga is so incredibly important.. my fiance (@ayogihasnoname) is all about yoga and has gotten me into it recently.. my favorite quote about yoga is

yoga is not about touching your toes, it's what you learn about yourself on the way down!😉

Keep on your yoga journey and i promise it will change ur life!

Wow! Your fiance is amazing (I'm following her now)!
That quote - so true! Thanks for the encouragement!

You look a lot better doing that than i ever could! Well done!! 😄

Ha! Thanks 😉

Self timers are SO helpful! a lot of times i end up capturing images from videos, helpful in capturing snaps of longer flows.
Dancer is one personal challenge pose, balance is not my strongest suit 😅

Yes, I love being able to take photos with the timer! Dancer is tricky! Thanks for stopping by!
