Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 89: Life Goes On.

It's feels good to be participating in this week's contest and of course I love the topic before us, it's a topic I can relate with and of course I'll love to share my two cents concerning this topic and I really hope y'all find it interesting. Let's get right into it friends.

When people say "Life goes on", what does that mean to you?

When people say "Life goes on", including myself, it simply means, "Move on, this is not the end of life". This is what people try to communicate when they make such statements. This statement is often made when people experience unforeseen situations which are usually negative and challenging, so in a bid to find courage to move on, they make such statements to draw strength to forge ahead against all the odds.

Does "Life goes on" make you feel better when something bad happens, or does it not help? Why?

I think the question is now personal. To me, I will say yes, it makes me feel better in the sense that it helps me look beyond the unfavourably circumstances to fixing my gaze on the brighter side of things with hope that things will get much more better as time goes on.

Much more than this is the assurance I get from God through His spirit in me that in spite of all the odd or painful experiences I've had, there is still so much goodies ahead of me if I refuse to focus on that already "spilt milk".

So I will say it helps a lot, we don't have to dwell so much on that negative thing that happened because it can rob us of the many good things that is ahead of us. So yes! Life goes on regardless... Meaning even if you decide not to move, live continues to move on even without you. So what would you rather do, move on too...smiles.

Knowing that we only have a certain amount of time, how does that change how you live?

Life is short so they say, it's a reality we don't want to come to terms with but it's really true, life is indeed short, I don't even want us to picture life like something with a great degree of longevity because even the longevity of life as related to man seems to be short.

It's funny how seconds turn into minutes minutes into hours, hours into days, days into week, weeks into month and year... You begin something that you think will last for a very long time and then before you open your eyes and close it, time has elapsed. In my own case, it was my National youth service year, the one year was as though it was a sprint , it ended sooner than I envisaged... That's time for you.

Now that I understand that time is indeed short, I focus on fulfilment, engaging in things that bring fulfilment and peace of mind. I also maximize every moment and opportunity I have to live and enjoy life because we have just this one life and it's short no matter the number of years we think we have on earth.

What does it mean to be strong and bounce back from tough times? How do you do that?

What this means is simple, it's more like what's we have discussed in the previous sessions. When life brings it down moment and you eventually find yourself on the ground, do not sit there and cry all your life, do not host a pity party there, instead brush up the dirty off your clothes and move on.

In moving on, you ensure you pick your lessons from the experience, you also learn how not to find yourself in such situations if it's within your power and then find strength to forge ahead. Indeed, there are better times ahead of us... More than the challenges we have faced so far.
