Assalamu Alaikum friends. Wishing everyone good health. Hope you all are well. By God's grace I am fine too. Today I am here to participate in a wonderful learning competition organized by our teacher @ashkhan. The Topic of this contest is Steemit Learning Challenge-S22W2; Tennis Elbow". So this is a very important competition where we can learn some important things. Below are some questions that I will answer correctly. So let's get started.

What's tennis elbow? Write in your own words after getting knowledge from the lesson post.

Tennis elbow is a physical problem that causes pain and inflammation on the outside of the elbow. This is usually caused by overuse, especially in those who repeatedly use wrist and hand muscles. Such as tennis or other racket sports players. This problem affects the lateral epicondyle of the elbow and can lead to decreased arm strength and pain that makes daily activities difficult.

Symptoms of tennis elbow :

1000011290.jpgSource

01Pain and tenderness on the lateral side of the elbow.
02Pain when lifting heavy objects or gripping or twisting.
03Weakness in wrist and hand muscles.
04Discomfort during daily tasks, such as eating or writing.
05Pain increases with pulling or pressing.

Types of tennis elbow :

01Acute tennis elbow
02Chronic tennis elbow
How would you diagnose a tennis elbow? Any clinical investigation or assessment tests?

How to diagnose tennis elbow:

01History takingThe patient's lifestyle, work style, location of pain and when the pain worsens are asked.
02Physical examinationThe doctor examines the elbow and hand. How the patient reacts to pressure on the painful area is observed.

Special Tests :

  • Cozen's Test : The patient is asked to elevate the wrist, and pain during this is a sign of tennis elbow.

  • Mill's Test : The test is done by extending the wrist.

As an imaging test :

01X-rayTo check the condition of bones.
02MRI or ultrasoundto look for tendon or muscle damage.

The doctor will first listen to your pain history and examine your elbow. Then ask for some simple movements to pinpoint the source of the pain. If necessary, help of imaging tests is taken.

Try to practice at least 3 exercises that you have learned from the lesson. Share images, gifs or videos while practicing preferably gifs or videos.
01Ball Squeezing

1000011337.gif

  • In this exercise, a soft ball is placed in the hand and pressed hard. It strengthens wrist and hand muscles and increases grip strength. Practice 5-10 times daily to reduce pain.
02Finger Stretch

1000011342.gif

  • In this exercise, the fingers are gradually stretched and lengthened. It strengthens finger muscles, increases mobility and improves grip ability. Practice 5-10 times daily.
03Wrist Flexors Stretch

1000011349.gif

  • In this exercise, one arm is straight in front and the other arm is extended at the wrist downwards. It increases flexibility and mobility by stretching the wrist muscles. Hold for 5-10 seconds each time and can be done several times a day.
Share your review after performing these exercises either on yourself, healthy individual or patient.

I performed these three exercises on myself: ball squeeze, finger stretch, and wrist flexor stretch. So I had a personal conversation accordingly.

Ball Squeezing1000011319.jpg

Although it seemed easy at first, after doing it for a while I felt the pressure to strengthen the hand muscles. It is useful for increasing grip strength. But the exercise was comfortable and painless.

Finger Stretch1000011320.jpg

The muscles felt a little tight when stretching the finger which is normal. But it works great for increasing finger flexibility.

Wrist flexor stretch1000011327.jpg

It made the wrist and arm muscles feel relaxed during exercise. But it is helpful in making hand movements easier.

In my experience these exercises are simple and effective. They are very useful in increasing the strength and flexibility of hand muscles and wrists. They are good for relaxation for healthy people and will definitely be helpful for patients with tennis elbow or wrist pain.

Tennis elbow is one of the most common problems caused by overuse, injury or repetitive stress. It causes pain, weakness and difficulty in daily activities. Physical therapy exercises, such as ball presses, finger stretches, and wrist flexor stretches, can effectively reduce symptoms and increase muscle strength and flexibility. Timely treatment and exercise can solve this problem.

Finally, it is a very good competition, where we can learn an important exercise. So I am Inviting my lovely Steemian friends @ulfatulrahmah, @kouba01, @vivigibelis to Participate in this Competition.

Thank You So Much For Reading My Blog.

Dear @max-pro
You participate such a good way and Very Good Contribution to Exposure of Tennis Elbow!
I am grateful to know much more about tennis elbow and its management than before. You have once again depicted how beneficial simple exercises such as ball squeezing and finger stretching are as if I never read your post. These exercises are extremely effective; they must be done not only by sick people, but also by ordinary people who spend all day sitting in front of a computer. I also found that you were able to relate exercises to regular activities, making it even simpler. It is useful not only for the patients but can be useful for anyone who wishes to keep healthy their forearm, or wrist. The stuff you provided adds to this conversation hugely – good job!”

¡Saludos amigo!🤗

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.

Observations

Task 1 (2.8/3)
You have shared a great knowledge about tennis elbow, its symptoms, cause, it's types. It would be better to add explanation of the types of tennis elbow. I appreciate your effort.

Task 2 (3/3)
In the second question, you tell us about how you have to assess a patient by doing physical examination, history taking, special tests and investigations. Excellent.

Task 3 (4/4)
You try the finger stretches, wrist flexor stretch, ball squeezing. You did the finger stretches, ball squeezing, and wrist flexor stretch correctly. Always remember to apply heat pack in chronic condition and ice pack in acute condition before performing exercises to relax the muscles and reduce stiffness. I appreciate your efforts.

Overall you made a great attempt to answer all the questions. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from tennis elbow or any type of wrist. Thank you.
