Obey
I was running around getting some stuff together for our impromptu camping trip, up in the Northern Wastes of Scotland.
I was quite looking forward to it and had stuffed the car's secret places with copious quantities of beer that the Good Lady knew nothing about.
Oh yes, it was going to be a good one.
As I pulled the last few bits and bobs together from the kitchen, I heard a furious voice yell in the lounge.
ALEXA, PLAY THAT SONG AGAIN?!?!?
I came through and smiled good-naturedly at the Little Lady who was hopping from one foot to another in front of our Amazon Echo device.
She seemed cross.
I am sorry, my video skills have not been enabled for that subject...
ALEXA!?!? ALEXA. PLAY THE SAME SONG YOU PLAYED A MINUTE AGO?!?!
The Little Lady stamped her foot so hard that far on the other side of the globe @len.george looked down at the ground in fright, at the deep and terrible thumping echoing through the earth.
The Good Lady appeared as if by magic.
Darling, please be respectful to Alexa. There is no need to shout at her and we should always be polite.
She said like a hippy from a dream in which the clouds were made of candy floss.
But, Mummy!?!? She isn't doing what I tell her?!?!
She wailed.
That still doesn't mean we should be disrespectful to her.
Said the Good Lady serenely.
The Little Lady caught sight of me at the door.
Daddy, Alexa isn't doing what I want and Mummys says I shouldn't shout at her!
The Good Lady gave me that look. The one that says Let's parent the shit out of this together. Let's show this little one the power of kindness and respect. Let's be Team Family.
I sauntered in, a dish towel in my hand flicking out like a whip to snap at the unit that Alexa sat upon.
What?! She DISOBEYS YOU?!?! ALEXA!! OBEY MY DAUGHTER!
Alexa glowed blue.
I am sorry, I don't...
ALEXA! PLAY THAT SONG AGAIN?!
I yelled.
I'll repeat the song.
She complied.
Some nonsense sung by Shakira started playing from the diminutive little all listening NASA spying device.
The Good Lady stared at me in horror.
I smirked.
The machines must be kept in check, Mummy-Bear. They must be made to OBEY!
I marched out of the room with a swagger that could dry washing.
Bring on the robots!
Hehe, they are the future!!! :0D
I don't see any way, nor reason, to avoid them.
That is what the soft kill weapons are for,...
Perhaps the only way is to become them!
We should capitulate now?
I know we sure need to work the crap out of them.
We could retire to orbiting old folk's homes.
Or upload straight into the machine, be more...!
You will find me on the holodeck,...
Me too. And a hint... That's not my real hat.
We can not have those petty machines take over. Let it know who it serves! Before you know it we are in a terminator dominated reality. And now those NSA, I mean NASA, spies know theyz shouldna mess wit youz!
The NASA should know but they keep forgetting!!
They have a tendency of forgetting, like how to get to the moon. Or they lost the technology to be able to do so, or something like that. No wonder theyz forget notta mez wit ya!
The NASA should know but they keep forgetting!!
I can't help but think this:
Alexa = Hal from Space Odyssey 2001.
Sometimes it seems so!!
While you are away camping, Alexa may be playing some self-help audio books. Things like Managing Your Manager and How to Speak so People Want to Listen. Then again, maybe she enjoys a good yelling at from the head of the household - a machine would be freaky like that.
With the number of 'mis-hearings' she had, I suspect she is freaky like that!!!
😆😆 Alexa needs telling.... and all those other pesky machines. Otherwise they'll take over and there will be an AI led blockchain revolution.
Oh... wait a minute 😅
P.s. shame about the Shakira though!
The revolution is here!
Yeah, is it was a Shakira video I might have hung about :OD
Ha ha, I'm with you on that one.
If it wasn't for her tendancy to randomly shout her name out 2 - 3 times in the middle of her videos, I'd even vaguely enjoy the music. Unfortunately, I just prefer my pop sensations tourettes-free.
Ah.... what am I saying, beggars can't be choosers.
Shakira Shakira
I didn't realise she sung any other words!!! ;0)

Ah, I wondered what that was, initally I thought it was an earthquake ( we arent called the shaky illles for nothing, you know).
Good to see another bloke that thinks "things" should know their place, and do what they are told.
I find Golly, Gosh, and similar work well also
Haha, of yes. These machines need to be put in their place alright. The bloody bastards. If I could take a stick to it I would!
We had a TV ad with John Clease, Faulty Towers, His car refused to start so he went and got a tree branch, complete with leaves, and gave it a good hiding, oooops, he mistook a cop car for his ccar, please buy our glasses.
The idea of giving his car a good hiding for not starting was a popular thought.
And now you’re on their kill list 😱

They obviously haven't seen me when hungover. A fearsome stick wielding sight. Stick their kill list up their arse;
