In your own words, what is photosynthesis, and what importance is it in agriculture?

Photosynthesis is an important process for plants to make their own food, using the sun, water and carbon dioxide. Plants produce glucose through a pigment called chlorophyll and then produce oxygen from it. Photosynthesis is mainly done in the leaves of plants.

Photosynthesis takes place in two stages, one of which is light reaction, and the other is carbon fixation. Light reactions mainly occur in the thylakoid membrane of chloroplasts. In this process, chlorophyll absorbs sunlight, and H2O is broken down and O2 is released, into two light energy-producing compounds called ATP and NADPH.

The process of carbon fixation takes place in the strom of chloroplasts. Here, carbon dioxide is absorbed from the environment and added to RuBP. And glucose is produced.

Photosynthesis plays an important role in agriculture,

1. Photosynthesis plays an important role in the growth of crops, photosynthesis is the main process of food production so it ensures the growth of plants.

2. Photosynthesis produces glucose and glucose produces oxygen which is important for other organisms including humans.

3. Trees also protect the balance of the environment by absorbing carbon dioxide.

What are the key essential nutrients required by plants, and what role does each of them play in plant growth?

Plant nutrients are divided into two categories,

1. Macros
2. Micro

Macro elements include nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, calcium, sulfur.

• Nitrogen: Which is helpful for the growth of leaves and flowers.

• Phosphorus: Roots, fruits and flowers are helpful for its structure and energy production.

• Potassium: Which increases the immune system.

• Calcium: Helps to grow the roots of the tree.

• Magnesium: Helps in the formation of chlorophyll.

• Sulfur: Helps in the formation of proteins and vitamins.

Micro elements include iron, zinc bron, manganese, copper.

• Iron:- Helps to carry out the production of chlorophyll, and oxygen transport.

• Zinc: Helps in protein synthesis.

• Boron: Helps in the formation of flowers and fruits.

• Copper:- Helps in the functioning of enzymes.

• Manganese: Helps in the functioning of phosphorus.

Briefly explain this terminologies; ¹"mixed farming" and ²"crop rotation."

The climate and environment of Bangladesh are quite good for the production of agricultural products. Therefore, farmers adopt some methods to get more profit in a short time, it is less labor as well as financially profitable.

Simultaneous cultivation of multiple crops or mixed farming is a method in which farmers cultivate different types of crops simultaneously on the same land. It protects soil quality and increases agricultural production.

Farmers adopt some important methods for mixed farming, these are: seed selection, seedbed preparation, seed planting, care, harvesting. At the same time, some of the crops of Bangladesh for cultivation are: okra and tomato winter vegetables.

In rotational farming, the farmer changes the crop every 1 year to produce crops, such as growing carrots after growing potatoes. Crop rotation is a process in which soil quality can be maintained, insect infestation reduced, and farmers can benefit.

• Rotational cultivation is done in some processes:-
  Crop planning, seed selection of previous crops, soil testing, seed planting, rearing, harvesting and collection.

• Some popular crops for rotational cultivation are: Paddy and wheat, potato and carrot, gram mustard etc.

Explain three (3) roles of agriculture in your country.

The three main roles of agriculture in my country are explained:

It is very important and necessary for a country to produce agriculture. Everyone knows about World War II, Japan is an economically active country, but during World War II, there was a famine in Japan. Even in my country Bangladesh, around 1974, there was a terrible famine after the liberation war of 1971, in which millions of people died of starvation. This proves that agricultural production is very important for a country,

The three main roles of agricultural products are:-

1. Food Security: Food plays an important role in meeting the food needs of the people of the country and ensuring the nutritional content of the body, and meeting the necessary deficiencies of the body.

2. Environment and Climate Protection: Agricultural products or plant crops protect our environment and soil, absorb carbon dioxide and transport oxygen.

3. Economic development: Export of agricultural products abroad is also helpful in increasing the value of GDP.
