Does it make sense to publish posts in two languages?
In my opinion, it makes less and less sense to write posts in two languages. It seems outdated to me. But maybe I'm wrong and there are still people out there who find translations helpful.
So my question is...
...are bilingual posts helpful to you, irrelevant, or even annoying?

Why it no longer makes sense for me
I have the Vivaldi browser with integrated translation function installed on my PC and smartphone. For bilingual posts, especially when languages are written alternately or in two columns, the tool does not always work reliably. Bilingualism is then, at least for me, rather disadvantageous.
Presumably, the number of users of translation tools will continue to grow, while those who translate manually, e.g., with DeepL, will decline in the future.
In addition, we have Steem frontends with integrated translation function.

At steemx.org, you can also translate posts with a single click. The language selection is not as extensive as at SteemPro, but it does include Italian and Venezuelan, which SteemPro doesn't have.

What do you think? And maybe someone has a tip for those who haven't found an easy solution yet.
An important and interesting question!
I can think of at least two reasons it makes sense.
assuming this is a manual translation and the author is multi-lingual that would their own words so it would be different from automatic translation, and that, let's be honest, still sucks sometimes :))) Especially when it comes to full articles, gender when applying to adjectives, etc. (that's often true when I'm reading something auto-translated into my language)
on at least two, completely separate occasions, I've read comments by large stake holders here they give bigger upvotes by counting the words in a post. As a visual guy who prefers images, this makes me a big sad but it is what it is after all. Still, I bet some people include translations just for that purpose - to increase the word count. Lorem ipsum, hehehe...
From a technical perspective, it doesn't make much sense, I occasionally use the "Translate..." feature that's part of the Chromium-based browsers. One click away, no need to copy/paste and once activated it works on the same web site until the tab/browser is closed, so it's convenient :)
Weißt ja, mache ich in den allermeisten Beiträgen so. Ich selber nutze die Übersetzungsfunktionen der Browser nicht - verschiedene Gründe. Mittlerweile werden diese zwar besser, aber ich stolpere immer wieder über grausames Zeug. Außerdem lege ich keine Accounts an und bleibe im privaten Modus. Wären dann jeweils pro Seite immer neue EInstellungen nötig. Ich nutze gerne DeepL, manchmal in Kombination mit webtran - wenn es um Idiome geht, sind die teilweise besser.
Ich stelle mir also vor, was ich gerne lesen wollen würde. Und realisiere meine Posts dann auf diese Art. Es gibt etliche Nutzer, die sich bei mir dafür bedanken. Nicht die deutschen, klar. Aber solange es Leute gibt, denen ich damit einen Gefallen tue, mache ich so weiter.
Sollte ich irgendwann überzeugt sein, daß diese Art Bilingualität keinen Sinn mehr ergibt, würde ich mich vermutlich entscheiden, hier nur noch auf Englisch zu schreiben.
Ich mag die deutsche Sprache, sie kann sehr poetisch sein. Aber ich finde sie unter'm Strich so unnötig für die internationale Verständigung wie Kisuaheli...
Ja freilich :-) Ich finde auch, es kommt auf den Beitrag an. Und wie ich sehe, haben manche noch keine Ein-Klick-Übersetzung. (Was einem wohl manchmal "grausames Zeug" erspart)
For me, it makes a whole lot of sense... I use my laptop more often for steemit and my browser doesn't have translation. Except, I copy d post and paste in "Google translate", to help out..
And I don't know any steemit application that works on laptop...
Interesting, what browser do you use? (I assume you don't want to switch to another one, because I wouldn't either, as I've been using Vivaldi for many years.)
I use Google Chrome browser.... I will check out the Vivaldi. I'm hearing it for the first time.
As far as I know, Chrome has a built-in translator. If you search for “activate translation in Google Chrome” you should find instructions.

For a long time now, posts in any language hasn’t been a problem for me. I simply copy the entire text of a page into ChatGPT and ask it to translate the article into the language I need. AI is like the devil - it knows all the languages of the world, absolutely all of them. Even Latin :)) Publications laid out in two columns, in my opinion, are very inconvenient to read on a smartphone, but that’s just my personal view.
Oh, I hadn't used ChatGPT for this purpose yet, DeepL usually delivers reasonably good results. But maybe ChatGPT is better for Ukrainian? The main thing is that you understand roughly what was meant :-)

The thing is that ChatGPT presents the text exactly in the linguistic form I ask for, whereas, for example, Google Translate just translates words, and sometimes it’s hard to understand the meaning.
