The shadow of the evil eye
Do you know how bad the evil eye is? If it starts, it chases it to the grave.
Our elders have taught one thing that if something or a work is going well, then say Masha'Allah, in this way a person goes under the shadow of God's mercy. And is protected from the evil eye and shadow of evil things.
The evil eye eats away at a person's happiness like a termite and a person does not even know it.
Another type of evil eye is jealousy. When a person cannot bear the happiness and peace of another person, he becomes envious. And he becomes so engrossed in jealousy that he does not care about his own gain or loss or that of another human being. And the result is bad eyesight.
And evil eye are a very bad thing.
To avoid this, we should give charity.
Indeed, charity protects against many evil things and evil eye. A person becomes close to his Lord through remembrance.
May Allah protect us all from evil things (meaning from the shadows of jinn etc. and from evil eyes). And keep us in the shadow of His mercy and blessings.
Ameen.
Sum Ameen.
Are you all ready to go under the shadow of your Lord?
So come, worship, charity, alms.
Say Ma Sha Allah for the happiness of others, and be happy in your own lives.
@aneukpineung78 @wakeupkitty I would like to give 8 out of 10 marks for this post.
Is there anyone else who can give me their comments and grades on this post.
For this story I have clicked the picture from my mobile Oppo A 15 and I think this picture is perfect for this story.
And as I've said many times before, I love to write, and I really do. I write on the register because I am an Urdu writer and later I translate it to English from Google.

Since @wakeupkitty called my attention to this article, here I am:
The portuguese territory was once the berth of what we call the mossarab culture, which was a period when all three Abrahamic religions cohabited peacefully in self governing cities (although with some political connection to the Califate in Cordoba) to the South of the River Tagus, which is to say, about half modern Portugal.
From that period we inherited Arabic technology, words and some cultural traditions, one of them was that of the evil eye, in which we believe fervently, only we say Cruz, credo!, which is a Christian origin expression that roughly represents the same as the arabic Masha'Allah and we use the simbol of a clenched fist with the thumb between the index and middle finger to ward it off. We also call it olho gordo, or fat eye when it's someone that we believe is evil and transmits that malignancy just by looking at things, or at us, as if they carried a curse along with them.
As we also tend to accumulate anti evil eye amulets. Next to my bedroom door, I have this one, which is originary from Constantinople (Istambul), Turkey.
Also, for us, the evil eye is synonim with envy and someone who wishes us harm. We don't have Jinn in our culture, but we do have demonic posessions and angels.
Lovely idea to bring that photo together with the text.
Cheers,
Pedro
PS: In the second sentence, you should replace chases it for chases you.
An interesting comment you wrote. Do you believe in the evil eye, as in that it can hurt you and if is this part of culture?
I do.
One of the things that shocks me in these platforms, is that there is talent in many cases, but sometimes they dedicate it to write less literary things (General case).
Particular case. The plot of this story is interesting. You have the skill and the angel of the writer. And you show it because I have read the whole story. So you have captured the reader's attention and that is extremely important. I didn't abandon the story in the first paragraph. But according to my modest opinion. In recent years, the technological revolution has changed the paradigms of how people interact and consume literature. People don't seem to have time to dedicate to reading stories and novels. It's all about the now, the immediacy.
So stories now should be like a gunshot (in most cases) or a lightning bolt in others. Action, speed, precision, force. Fluidity. What struck me, the intrusiveness of the author. The reading of the author's thoughts within the text. The breaking of the plot to introduce ideas of the writer, within the narrated space. Examples: *Our elders have taught one thing.
The story should begin with this sentence. It's great, it's powerful. The evil eye eats away at a person's happiness like a termite. And then weave the story around that. The story told by its characters.
Note: Many rose novels, from the last century, were written this way. But in my humble opinion, that should no longer be the norm. Although there are readers for all types of works. We are here to adapt and reach a wider audience.
@wakeupkitty
Thanks for your interesting comments and analysis.
I enjoyed reading your comment.
have a good day.

Greetings @almaguer.
There is something for everyone on this platform. In this case the writing is based on the belief of the so-called “evil eye.”
In my country there is a lot of superstition and vehement belief in the evil eye, especially in the most vulnerable classes. In my childhood I remember hearing that very often.
Nowadays I believe more in the evil effect of envious people on things in the world, people or every living thing.
The picture fitst great and it reminds me of a contest that we had on steemit where we shared a photo of a shadow. For sure @olivia08 remembers that or perhaps @gertu as well?
If it comes to your text it started very strong and I thought you would drag me into a scary, kind of horror story.
If it comes to the evil eye I have no experiences with it although I met plenty of envy and it's still here today (platforms are great for it) since people only tend to see what they like to see and are blind for the effort and time you invest and the sacrifices you make. I would not call the the evil eye but I have to look up what is actually meant by it. To be honest I don'tlike to be in the shadow of someone since this is not a positive expression in our language. We would say: under the wings of .. .but not in the shadow. In the shadow means your will never be allowed to be you and express yourself something you did here very well.
What do you think @aneukpineung78?
In my country to speak of the “evil eye” is to recognize that there is evil in a person and that this person transmitted his evil in some way to a human being, an object, or a plant.
Thank you @wakeupkitty for tagging me.
The fact is that something that has the “evil eye” in the superstition, of course, can generate in that object its deterioration or that it is lost or broken.
When the same thing happens to a plant it can dry up, and lose its flowers or its fruits.
When it happens to a human being, he/she can get sick or even become seriously ill or die.
The truth is that everything is part, in my country, of people's beliefs. In my case, I must say that being a Christian I think that when we are under the shadow of the Most High we will always have angelic protection from everything negative in the world. Because I do not rule out that the envy of bad people can cause us harm.
Do you know about magic and evil eye?
The effects of both are almost same.

I know the wickedness of people and what they can cause to human beings with their envy, that can be taken as evil eye or witchcraft. Yes, it exists.
Thank you very much.
One of the things I’ve always requested from God is to give me a friend that won’t be jealous of my progress and we can open up to each other and discuss about our big wins without being envious of each other.
Indeed we need God mercy and spirit of discernment to identify all this evil eyes because you can never tell who’s for you and who is against you.

Indeed, the companionship of a good and sincere friend is a great gift from God.
But there is someone who fulfills the criteria of friendship, otherwise everyone is self-interested nowadays.

Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
@almaguer @grebmot @hefestus what can you say about this post? A comment is appreciated, thank you.
...
@jiva34 Do you want to say something?
I wrote a reply and comment but after rereading it I decided it wasn't what I wanted to say. If I comment it would be like this: Talking about an evil eye, or ghosts is a way to invite them. Better not to.
Dear friend it is just only our fear. Which we should not let dominate ourselves.
