The Long awaited holiday begins

At the Airport, check-in done and now waiting to board the flight. I am so so excited. The long-awaited holiday is finally here. Planning a holiday is not an easy task. Specially a family vacation where you need to take care of everyone's requirements and preferences. I am feeling that this particular holiday has taken much longer time in planning then the actual vacation days. Specially for me, I am very particular about every single thing when I am travelling. I do not like to leave anything to chance and then get surprises. We will be first travelling in Italy for 11 days covering Milan, Rome and Venice and some places around them and then take a 7 nights cruise from Rome where some parts of Italy and Dubrovnik and Corfu will be covered. It was a task narrowing down on the cruise itself because it had to fit in with our itinerary and dates. Booking the hotels was another challenge. The more options, the more confusion. Then I had to plan our route, since we will be covering so many places. Budgeting, Insurance, Exhchange.....phewww all of this has been pretty time consuming but I am happy. I have done my homework well and planned for the trip well.

The Airport scenes are always very exciting for me. While I wait to board the flight and physically still at the Muscat Airport, but mentally, I am already transported to Italy thinking of the beautiful, Architecture, Coast lines and the Lakes. It is all so beautiful, even watching it in real is like what you see in the pictures, very attractive. The Country side views are breath taking. It has been my long wish to visit the Vatican and the Trevi Fountain, to sit in the Gondola ride in Venice and visit the fashion capital Milan. I am going to fulfill all my dreams on this trip.

Me and Hubby have also wanted to do one Cruise holiday and finally we are doing that as well. Many years back a friend of mine who was working with Royal Caribbean had taken us for a day on his ship when it was docked in Mumbai. I was so fascinated by the look of it. It was grand and so royal. Since that time, I have had this desire to do one Cruise holiday.

Hubby has been pampering me too much. He booked a Business class seat for us, so I am going to travel in style and luxury. Beautiful destinations mixed up with good experience are beautiful memories created for life time. Will be landing by 8 p.m. in Milan, hopefully reach the hotel by 10, and I can have a peaceful night sleep and be fresh up for tomorrow to start our holiday. The boarding announcement is already coming up and I need to get in and switch off my phone. See you all tomorrow from the other part of the world.
