Candyman (2020) – Movie Trailer
And, finally, we will get a horror movie worth watching! Academy Award winner Jordan Peele is presenting to us the sequel of the horror classic from 1992, named the same Candyman! The movie is distributed by Universal Pictures which means that it will be available worldwide. The premiere is scheduled for the middle of June and the official trailer looks very promising.
The story takes place in the present day, 10-years after the Chicago’s Cabrini towers were torn down, because they thought that it will destroy a supernatural killer with a hook instead of a hand, that was terrorizing the neighborhood… Visual artist Anthony and his girlfriend Brianna move into a loft in Cabrini, which was re-built beyond recognition… After some time, Anthony discovers the terrifying secret of the place and starts to dig into the past...
The movie is directed by Nia DaCosta, known by the movie Little Woods (2018), where she directed and wrote the movie. She has also directed 2 episodes of TV Series Top Boy in 2019. The screenplay for Candyman is written by Academy Award winner Jordan Peele (Us (2019), Get Out (2017), Keanu (2016)), Win Rosenfeld (BlacKkKlansman (2018), Lorena (2019)) and Nia DaCosta, by the characters of Clive Barker (Hellraiser (1987), Nightbreed (1990), Candyman (1992)).
In the main roles are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman (2018), TV Series The Get Down (2016-2017), First Match (2018)), Teyonah Parris (Dear White People (2014), Chi-Raq (2015), If Beale Street Could Talk (2018)), Colman Domingo (Lincoln (2012), Selma (2014), Passing Strange (2009)), Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (TV Series Misfits (2009-2012), Utopia (2013-2014), Dom Hemingway (2013)), Cassie Kramer (TV Series Chicago P.D.
