SEC-S17W1: "Season of My Country"
It's my pleasure to take part in this first week topic of the enegement challenge by Steem for Bangladesh, In the holy book (Bible) it written that there are season for everything. My country is not an exception of the seasons God created . We are lucky to have manageable seasons that compliments each other. You may like to see the seasons in my write up. Before then my country is Nigeria.
How many seasons in your country? Which one is your favorite and why?
I'm from Nigeria the giant of Africa, we normally experience two seasons over here ,They are the Dry season and the rainy season. My favorite season is dry season though it has it's own demerits. Why I choose dry season is the atmosphere, this time accommodates every events. There's no fear of rain 🌧️. During this time everywhere is very dry no much seeing creeping and crawling insect around the streets and the houses. No much cold and the likes that comes with rainy season.
If there was one season you wanted to skip forever, which one would it be? Explain the reason.
This seasons have their good and bad sides , but If I'm given the right / power to skip any season I would like it to be the rainy season.
Yes, this season comes with destruction from the winds and flood rendering some people homeless.
Rainy season comes with a lot of cold and dirty environment. Bringing mosquitoes over the house, During rainy season planing an event is very risky.
Describe a traditional or special activity that people in your country do during a particular season.
During dry season like I mentioned above, a lot of people celebrate out the field, this season famers uses it for clearing of bushes for cultivation. There more outdoors events compared to rainy season. Dry season is used for traveling and visiting loved ones.
I have seen some tribe in my country using dry season to celebrate their cultural activities like new yam festival, coronation, masquerade parade and wrestling.
Are there any special foods or drinks that people in your country enjoy most during certain seasons? If so, what is it and why?
Every season in my country have it's own food, like in the dry season we have more yams , plantains and casavas , this is not to say that it can be seen during rainy season. They are more common during dry season.
Mango is a very nice fruit that many look Forward to see the season , during the dry season, mango becomes very common that you buy as low 100 Naria.
Cucumber is another fruit that is very special during both seasons. This very fruit is used in many occasions, they use it to welcome visitors as cola, it very healthy for the body. People in my country likes and plant this fruits in their different farms.
In Summary.
I appreciate the creator of heaven and earth because each of the season compliments each other , if I'm to stay in my preferred season it may not be very favourable to my health without other seasons combined. So God knows why there are different seasons.

The dry season in Nigeria brings forth vibrant cultural celebrations and outdoor activities, fostering community connections and traditions. Special foods like yams and mangoes flourish during this time, enriching the culinary experience. It's a reminder of nature's diversity and the blessings of each season.
Thank you very much.
Upvoted. Thank You for sending some of your rewards to @null. It will make Steem stronger.
I agree that the dry season is perfect for outdoor activities. In my experience, it's the best time for gatherings and celebrations. I remember when I visited Rajisthan during the dry season, the atmosphere was lively with festivals and community events. It was a great opportunity to explore the culture and traditions of the country.
You're right! Mangoes are delicious, and they're definitely a highlight of the dry season. I remember enjoying fresh mangoes during my travels to tropical regions. There's nothing quite like biting into a juicy mango on a hot day. It reminds me of the vibrant flavors of summer.
Cucumbers are versatile indeed! In my opinion, they're a refreshing addition to any meal, especially during hot weather. I recall my grandmother growing cucumbers in her garden, and she would always use them in salads or as a refreshing snack. It's interesting to see how cucumbers are used in different cultures, like welcoming visitors as a gesture of hospitality.
Al the best
Thank you very much for your kind words.
I'm Nigerians too and you are correct that we have two seasons, which are the dry season and rainy season. You have expresses a preference for the dry season due to its favorable atmosphere and lack of rain. the challenges of the rainy season, such as destructive weather and health risks. Traditional activities during the dry season include farming and cultural celebrations, while special foods like mangoes and cucumbers are enjoyed during both seasons. I hope you have this mango in your house because I am coming straight away for my own share

Hello dear @okere-blessing
Me encantó leerte. Saludos.
