"My shopping Thursdays"

Hello fantastic Steemians, greetings to you all. Today is Nsuta Market day. The market starts early morning around 5:30 am when many sellers begin to bring their goods for sales. But I don't have any problem going to market today since I had given money to my wife for the weekly market. I left for school early morning after I had given house keeping money to my wife. My early going to school was as part of my appointment with one neighboring house. The owner of that house has been worrying us of cleaning a gutter that we connected our pipe to the gutter. Meanwhile, my wife has been distilling that gutter when it becomes dirty. We chattered to resolve that problem. Now the man would make concrete to fill the pot holes in that gutter. From there, I went to school when not one was there. I started feeling very cold, and I sensed it that it's malaria. I decided not to waste time, I have to find first aid to curb it. My friend, Samuel Baidoo recommended a very anti malaria drug for me - "arfan," one of the quickest relieve of malaria symptoms. I decided to go to Nsuta to buy one, since the students were even weeding. There is one renowned Pharmacy at Nsuta, they sell quality drugs, but very expensive. The name of the pharmacy is called "Afri J Pharmacy."

Before I would go to that pharmacy to buy the drug, I decided to first shave off my hair at my usual place of Barbering my hair - "famous barbering shop" own by Ayittey. My hair was too busy and I didn't feel comfortable allowing it to grow in such manner. Lucky he was there and no one was shaving his hair, despite today being market day. I sat in the chair in the barbering room and he shaved it nicely for me.

When he finished shaving my hair, he collected Ghc 5.00 as the normal rate that every Baber in town is collecting. This amount in Dollars is $0.85 and in Steem is $5.9 Steem. I paid him and left the shop toward Afri J pharmacy shop. This is just about 5mins walk from the Barbering shop. When I was about to reach there, I had a nice shot of the place.

There was only one man here, also buying drug. He the man finished, I asked the Drug seller to give me that "arfan," anti malaria drug. Unfortunately that drug has got finished there. But there was a substitute known as "Shal' Artem" which can do similar job as arfan, beside that the price is the same as the arfan anti malaria drug. The lady at the pharmacy recommended for me to buy that one. The price is Ghc 5.00, which is the same as $0.85 Dollars and $5.9 Steem. The lady wrote how I should take it, 4 tablet at a time for 8 hours intervals before I can take the next 4 tablets. The whole pills is 24 to which means I will use 3 days to complete is. I paid her and received my drug. Unfortunately I requested for received for this drug, and it had already finished.

I left Afri J Pharmacy place and came to "New Heights Books & Stationery Shop." The owner of the shop keep is called Barima Agyei, this is common name to everybody in town. The Book shop is very famous based on where it's situated. I have come here to by Sketch pads and color pencils for my Kids to be able to draw. Barima Agyei was in the shop with his last born whose age is around 20years. He asked the child to search for the items I requested. The boy then removed them from the shop. I was buying two sketch pads and one colored pencils.

The sketch pads, each cost Ghc 2.00, so the two is Ghc 4.00 and the colored pencils cost Ghc 1.00. All amounted to Ghc 5.00, which is equivalent to $0.85 Dollars, and $5.9 Stern. I requested for receipt since they don't often give unless you request for receipt. The boy prepared a nice receipt for the items purchased. The following is the receipt he prepared covering the sketch pads and colored pencils I bought.

On my departure from the book shop.

I therefore came to the Awaakye seller, my kids told me to buy some for them, since awaakye is one of their favorite food. I came here and bought Ghc 2.00 awaakye, Ghc 1.00 salad and two eggs. Everything cost Ghc 5.20, which is similar to $0.884 Dollars, and $.6.136 Steem. The woman packaged it nicely and gave it to me. I gave her Ghc 10.00 and she exchanged for me.

I proceeded to where they sell nose masks beside the road side. The woman who was seller wasn't there. But I had to wait for her. While waiting, I had some shots with my camera phone.

On my way home, I met this lady I know her, she is call Lukaiyatu, she was selling two of my favorite drinks; "Amuduro and Soobolo" They are good for our health. The Amuduro is made up ginger and some other medicinal plant. Both drinks are noted to boost ones immune system. So it is always good to drink them frequently in this Covid 19. This is a great shopping list. You went lots of places. I like the unique Ghanian food Awaakye though I have never tasted it. Was that spaghetti added onto it? Yummy, spaghetti is one of my favorite dish.

Thanks for sharing your shopping list and costs incurred. I am also going to be sharing mine soon.

Great to see you around @yohan2on, always engaging steemians. Awaakye is a popular food in Ghana, I think one day I will have time to explain how it's prepared. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Congratulations, you are a winner in The Shopping Game on July 2nd.

Here is an extra upvote to cover the cost of your shopping for that day.
