My story : Today's activity is about food and life.
Hello, my lovely friends! The weather has been extremely hot these past two or three days, until last night when it rained heavily with thunder and lightning. Listening to the rain was pleasant, but I can't really handle the thunder because I'm very afraid of it, especially with all the bad news lately about lightning and thunder. I just lay there listening to the rain and drifted off to sleep until morning. The weather is so cool and comfortable today. I woke up around 6:00 AM. I planned to go to the market, but ended up relaxing and waiting until almost 7:00 AM. Then I got ready for the morning market. When I got back, I did housework, sewed clothes for my husband, cooked for the kids, and enjoyed the flowers – just like a typical unemployed person like me. In the evening, I took the kids to the playground. That's a brief overview of my day...
The atmosphere at the morning market was quiet, not too crowded, and the stalls weren't very busy either, probably because of the rain... I walked inside to buy some necessities like pork and a couple of vegetables. Then I drove home.
Fruit Truck: As we drove out, we saw a small truck with a flatbed that opened up to sell fruit. It was full of two or three kinds of fruit, but the most prominent was rambutan! Haha, I love rambutan. The fruit on the truck looked incredibly fresh, judging by the peels. But I just drove past without buying anything because I was really short on cash that day...
Flowers: The morning flowers are so vibrantly colorful right now. The ixora plants are blooming profusely! The freshness of the flowers brings me joy as always. Actually, there are other flowers blooming too. Besides that, I'm also looking at the vegetables I've planted. I noticed the pumpkin vine seems to be getting too much water; the leaves are starting to turn yellow. I need to reduce the watering, otherwise I might not get to eat any of the pumpkins I planted.
Craft work: Before, when my mother-in-law was alive, there was someone who could help alter the fit of clothes. After she passed away, it became entirely my responsibility. Especially my husband, when he buys a crew-neck shirt, if he doesn't like the color or plans to wear it only at home and wants a tank top, I have to remove the sleeves. So, craft work has become something I have to do as well.
It was 4:00 PM, time to prepare dinner. The children still wanted to go to the playground, especially my youngest daughter. I suggested they help me sweep the house to teach them about chores before they could play. My eldest daughter helped me sweep and mop, then we emptied the trash cans and took them out to the front yard. Meanwhile, I started cooking. Today I made three dishes, and the fourth was steamed fish specifically for my father-in-law. I made simple dishes: stir-fried broccoli with pork and tofu and egg soup. I also made stir-fried beans with eggs, a dish my youngest daughter wanted. Once all the dishes were ready and the housework was done, I took the children to the playground, letting them play for just half an hour.
Everything was ready, so I took the kids to the playground. They were in such a hurry for half an hour, afraid they wouldn't get to play. As soon as they saw the edge of the playground, they ran towards the swings where their friends were already playing. I slowly walked along, admiring the flowers. The neighbor's flowers were so beautiful today, but I can't remember their names. When I reached my usual spot, I sat down slowly and watched the kids play, reminding them when they were being careless. Then it was time to go home. By now, the kids are more aware; I don't have to call them many times when it's time to go home. It's time to go home, shower, and get ready for dinner. And that's another day in my story.
