MY NEW FISHING HOLE / THE OLD FISHING HOLE
" What a pleasant evening, reflecting back on years long past. Surrounded by the present beauty, and the hope of another fish on my line." ~ Paradise Found
Lately I have found myself with an hour to fish before sunset and I have returned to my roots.
As a young lad growing up, my family visited my grandparents who lived on a farm. Several times each month we would take the 30 minute drive to "the farm." We all loved going there, and we enjoyed the drive to get there as well. The drive took us west of town on Ole River Road. Yes, that is the real name of the road.
The View downstream
And Ole River Road crossed Mill Creek, which ran into the Wisconsin River a 1/2 mile downstream. The fun was crossing Mill Creek, as it was always full of fisherman. Dad normally would ask how the fish were biting and they always had some good story to tell us. Bullhead fish were common there, as well as Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass and Perch.
Paradise selfie, imagine an old steel-framed bridge in the background
So this is where I returned to fish. 20 years ago the bridge was condemned and tore down, but Mill Creek is still flowing. I love the history of this place, it brings back good thoughts and peacefulness. What a pleasant evening, reclining there, reflecting back on years long past. Surrounded by the present beauty, and the hope of another fish on my line.
Bridge Out
Today I spent an hour there, and told this story to 3 high school girls that approached wondering about the old bridge. I plan on returning again soon. I will keep you posted on the results, hopefully I'll have a fish story for you.

Hello Friend @paradise-found ! I did not think that fishing is a sport! I wish you a great pastime!
Absolutely, fishing is a sport!! Thanks for visiting Olga!!
you spent the day in a very chilling way :D
A very pleasant way to pass an hour (or two) before sunset! The old bridge abutment looks like a good place to sit and fish. We too used to have a favourite fishing hole by an old bridge...Let us know when you catch one and we'll be right over for a fish dinner. lol
It is always nice to visit favorite childhood places.
beautiful place to spend a free time and go fishing, I imagine it is one of several hobbies that you have friend @paradise-found
This place must be such a beauty during the summer nights , or even in the day just looking down in the water. So impressive
