Time To Catch Up!
The first organism known to have an endocannabinoid system was a primitive jellyfish some 600 million years ago. The hemp plant itself didn't evolve until about 6 million years ago. There's obviously some incredibly complex biochemistry going on here that almost a century of barbaric government policy have obscured. For the first 37 years of the 20th century, cannabis was the third most prescribed medicine in America. Eli Lilly actually developed a strain called Cannabis Americana for the medical field.
Morphine was first discovered and isolated from opium in 1804. Nicotine was first discovered and isolated from tobacco in the 1820s. When was THC first isolated and discovered?1964. 1964! And it's been illegal the entire time since. How disgusting that we're still almost utterly clueless about one of the oldest cultivated plants in history because of subservience to "law".
So true. This is also a nasty symptom of capitalism. The capitalists didn't want electricity to be free, just as they don't want a natural medicinal and recreational plant that makes people feel great and helps severe medical conditions like epilepsy is appalling. And the truth is starting to come out. Sad how many could have been spared using this amazing plant for all sorts of things ranging from curbing epilepsy seisures to helping AIDS patients from wasting. There's even studies that cannabis kills cancer cells. Which explains even more why Big Pharma strives to keep cannabis under wraps.
In Canada, cannabis just became legal, not only for medical use but for recreational use as well. There are many different strands being developed by growers for different medical and recreational purposes and we have doctors specifically trained to prescribe cannabis. I dont know a whole lot about it because I havent used cannabis in years but some strains being produced have low THC levels and some very high. There are also a lot of CBD products as well, which tend to be more for medical purposes since they contain no THC and therefore no properties that make a person feel " high" or stoned. It gives people more options than prescription medications at least.

strains and the black market is still more effective with better customer service and delivery.
The Black Market in Alberta notably provides better service, timeliness, and quality of product along with a cheaper price. Theres almost no purpose to the legal market because they cant produce more weed or better weed than organized crime cartels.
Codeine is more dangerous, but can be legally bought in pharmacies. Just legalize so it doesn't end up into the hands criminals.

It needs to be decriminalized !
The legislation just leads to more stupid and unhelpful laws that are then used for control and profit.
Well said, @meanbees!
@farizal, codeine is already legalized (in North America anyway), it's a controlled substance, just like cannabis is/will be under legalisation. If you're worried about the hands of criminals, then be afraid of the government.
decriminalization would remove the profit motive for crime.
Cannabis is both good and bad. Starting with the bad side, it can make you high when you take in alot of it. The good about it is that it xan help prevent or fight cancer , as I have heard from several stories.
There are actually many cannabis products that do not make the user high. Growers have developed strands with very low THC levels (0.5%) and many people are using CBD products for medical use - to treat anxiety and other issues.

any drug or substance can make you high if toy consume a lot of it.
The american government is an official joke when it comes to cannabis.
