A cursed Child || Human Cruelty
When I was a child, I had no idea of human psychology and cruelty. trust me, my childhood was bright because my mom was there for me, she showed me the bright side of life. But later I realized how much dark a life can be...I know many people have to go through an extremely bad situation and their life struggle stories are remarkable. Some life-stories are inspiring and one thing I have learned from those stories and that is HOPE, I have talked about it before...
Anyway, today I will talk about cruelty, yes cruelty...
I will share a story today, a story that was uncertain and unexpected. I really wish and hope that no one had to go through this kind of situation.
Everybody loves their child no matter what is the situation, every parent loves their child unconditionally. They feel blessed thinking that their family is not complete, the newborn baby is a blessing for a family. But what about those who think a newborn is a curse for them?
My aunty used to live in Old Dhaka and my mom used to visit her often. I always went there with my mother in fact I was 4-5 years old then. My younger sister hadn't came into this world. I forgot the exact date but it was I think before 1995. One day after leaving my aunt's home, we saw a place full of crowds. It was night time and it was raining but not heavy rain. I and my mother was waiting for rickshaw and on that time we noticed the crowd.
Basically, the crowd was looking at something and was talking with each other. I was shocked and stared at the crowd. There was a street lamp so little light was there. Suddenly I noticed there was a dead body of a newborn and the baby was surrounded by the crowd. My mind was full of questions so I asked my mother and she was silent. I told her why we were not taking that baby, why the baby is there etc... She was completely silent and said that she/he is the child of God...
Still now sometimes I think about that story, I wish I could express how much heartbroken incident was that for me seeing a newborn into a dustbin, can you believe that how much cruel a human can be. They can kill a child, they can through a child into a dustbin because of reasons.
One of the most common reasons is becoming a mother at an early age. Either unfaithful relationship or a baby before marriage. My society doesn't accept a single mother and because of fear, either many kids have to die or have to go to the orphanage. Some of them known as a bastard. Sorry to say but my question is what is the fault of the baby, what was the fault of that baby?
Nowadays abortion is very popular though it's illegal, either we kill babies before their birth or we throw them away after their birth. Some of us kill babies after born. Bitter truth but history said that people used to kill girl children by putting them into graveyard alive.
I don't have any words for this type of sensitive case. If I want to talk, people will call me feminist, if I tell my society to accept a single mother, they will attack me and will say bitch who is spoiling our society. A child before marriage is a sin and my society considers it a sin.
Are there any solutions? I don't think so...
