12th day

I came back west region, 'Akranes' from 'Myvatn', northern Iceland. This was because there is a beach called 'Langisandur'.

As I hitchhiked, it got too dark and I was standing in a field near Borgarnes, where no one lived. It was an uninhabited field, but it seemed to be private land. I couldn't sleep on the road, so I made sleeping bags, mats, and emergency plastic bags in a remote area.

When I woke up in the morning and walked a little bit, I walked to the Borgarnes gas station and stopped by a cafe. Hmm... hamburger set was expensive as expected...(1,695 krone costs 13 USD).

I simply ordered a cup of coffee. Cafés at the Iceland gas station 'N1' offer you a cup if you order coffee or tea, and hot water was to be used autonomously near your seat. You can refil hot water as much as you want.

I cooked rice noodle and dried vegetables with hot water, and then removed water with other plastic bag. And put canned tuna and sweet chili sauce. This is really delicious!!

In fact, I didn't really want to go to Akranes. I was going to take a rest in the capital, Reykjavik, but when the driver of the car caught in hitchhiking, told me that he was going to Akranes, I said "yes"!!

That's why I was here, Akranes!

I didn't think the city is that big. There were not many people, so I felt relaxed.

On the shore side, I could see the industrial plants and other facilities.

As mentioned above, there was a beach called 'Langisandur'. I happened to see it in the tourist brochure at the camping site. The shower in the picture was impressive, so I wanted to come here. I'd been dragged into the shower. It's an area that is expected to attract crowds during the peak of the summer vacation season.

It's best to take a break in a place like this. With beer! I carried a can of beer with me when I was traveling. I used to relax when I saw a scenic spot.

I went straight to the capital city, 'Reykjavik', because I didn't have to swim. On the way, an Icelandic young man gave me a ride, and he was 17 years old. But the car was also very good. I was so envious.

I arrived at Kringlan Mall, one of Reykjavik's big markets.

The day I visited was probably a holiday, some stores were closed. You can see 'Joe the Juice' store in the picture. I heard this store a lot in Europe, but what I found out was that there were a lot of stores in Denmark. I remember someone said that the spicy tuna sandwich was very delicious.

The mart has well-equipped charging facilities, so I gathered all the electronic devices and charged them for a while to relieve the feeling of the body's languid moments. Laptop, camera, cell phone, cell phone battery, auxiliary battery and GoPro battery!

I can't charge the electronic devices while camping, so I had to do it whenever I had a chance.

I stopped by an outdoor goods store nearby.

I was on a survival trip and I can't wait to buy those items!!

This was a folding bowl. The material was like plastic rubber, but it can be heated by fire, so I thought it will be very convenient when cooking. You don't have to carry a heavy pot. If you don't want to carry, but I'm not sure if its in a safety.

Wow... this was a portable sink for washing dishes. It's not something I wanted, but I thought there's a product like this.

However, these outdoor products were very expensive... The folding bowl costs about 44 USD. I wanted to have this kind of product, And going to enjoy camping. But I should ask to myself if I will use it.

I actully bought 1L bottle of folding water for 30 euros in Spain. But I haven't useed it often. It's embedded somewhere. I just bought it to celebrate my birthday.

The next episode will be Iceland's last this summer, featuring the capital city of Reykjavik and a fish buffet.

After that, the winter trip to Iceland continues.
