CPS & Me: The End (I Hope)!!!

Well, it's over, for now I guess... at least I hope it is. We all met at the lawyers office and got the papers signed. The lawyer will file them with the court and CPS has agreed to halt the investigation- at least so they say. Experience and research tell me that once they get their hooks in they don't let go. But, I'm hoping for the best (I can't afford much more). Kayla is home with her Meme (my ex Diane) and I'm home $3500 poorer. This lawyer is good but you can't shake hands with the guy without handing him $500. I'm afraid to wave at him going by in a car for fear of getting a bill!
I want to thank my friends, @reddust, @stevescoins and @silviabeneforti for their generous contributions. Thanks to @familyprotection for their continuing support and to my old buddy @globocop for having me on his radio show to promote @familyprotection, @thehoneybee's documentary, Kids Inc. and my writing... I was nervous and sounded like a complete idiot, but somehow survived. I also need to thank Toy Baker for lending me $3000. She's the sister of my dear departed friend mayor Ray Baker. I contacted her for a letter on behalf of Kayla and insisted on the loan- "Ray would have wanted it."
Well, that's about it- Steem's down and I'm having to power down to pay Toy back, but that's fine... Kayla's what's important here. Looks like I'm going to have to write my ass off. Thanks to everyone for their support, emotional or otherwise- it means a lot... especially @familyprotection for being a voice for people like me.

Thank you! I don't feel like a hero, but for the first time since this started, I can feel a little less stressed out. I'm not worried, that baby is more precious than all the money in the world!

I'm glad things are starting to work out for you, and for your sake, I'm hoping things get better. I'm with you on keeping the CPS out of things, as they seem to make more of a mess than is really needed. Keep us informed on the things that are changing!
