The national bird of my country is none other than "the Eagle". You might want to ask me why I said so right? Well, this is because it is everywhere. The eagle is seen on virtually everything that has to do with the nation of Nigeria, it is found in the coat of arms, it is found in almost all the emblems of our national organisations, from the Nigerian police force emblem to the Nigerian Economics and Financial Crime Commission, to even the national football teams. The eagle is not just a national bird but it's like a symbol of Nigeria, just like the green and white colors.

Since the Eagle is known to represent strength, courage, and determination, it is like we are telling everyone that "We're strong, we're brave, and we're going to soar above any challenges" Just like the men's national team is called the Super Eagles, named after our national bird, likened them to be as powerful and fast as the eagle, flying across the field and scoring goals.
Then, the women's national team is called the Super Falcons, which is also named according to the female Eagles, whereas, the under-17 national team is called the Golden Eaglets, named after the baby eagles, just like they are still learning to fly to becoming the super eagles, while having so much potential.
Now, do you agree with me that the eagle is my nation's national bird as it has such a big part of my country's identity, making it a symbol of hope and pride, and it reminds everyone that Nigeria can achieve great things.

Like I already told, the Eagle was chosen as our national bird in Nigeria due to it strength, however the eagle is not known for strength alone.
Did you know that eagles also have an incredible eyesight? Exactly, they are known for seeing things from miles away, like a tiny mouse on the ground or a fish swimming in a lake while high up in the sky, just like having a super zoom lens to see everything from afar.
It is even more amazing to think that an eagle's eyesight is about eight times better than ours, which means they can see things that are eight times smaller or eight times farther away than we ever can. What could be cooler than having a super vision like that?

Oh yes! I have seen an eagle. Although we are told that there are different types and kinds of eagles, but who cares? the general name we all know for them all is eagle.
Several times, I have seen eagles on the television and even in real life here in Bayelsa, Nigeria. I have seen eagles catch fishes from rivers, and I have also seen them come for rats, chicks and lizards.

The eagle is a bird that can soar high above the clouds, with eyes that can see for miles, that is what makes the eagle such a powerful symbol. Acting like a superhero of the sky, able to see everything and overcome any challenge.
I believe when the eagle was chosen as our national bird, they were thinking about the qualities that makes us strong as a nation, with the eagle's strength representing our resilience and determination, while its sharp eyesight symbolizes our ability to see the future and make wise decisions.
It's like the eagle is a reminder that we can achieve anything we set our minds to, just like it can soar to great heights and see beyond the horizon, which makes it a symbol of hope and inspiration, reminding us that we can overcome any obstacle and reach for our dreams.
