Comment Rewards

You get paid a reward when someone upvotes you. In proportion to their voting power. But did you know you can upvote replies and pay the people who support you with upvotes?

Many don’t know this and they miss out on a way to both give and get rewards. Sometimes if you read the comments below a post you may see six replies between the author and a follower or supporter. Each of those replies can have a reward and as long as it’s above the “dust” threshold of 0.02, they get paid.

Resteem Posts

You can “resteem” someone’s post, which means to send it electronically to the feed of everyone following you. This means it will also be listed on your blog. This is a way of showing the post to more people. This has two effects: (1) It potentially increases the rewards for the author and (2) It can potentially increase the curation reward for you. It’s a win-win situation where both of you potentially benefit.

This is just another way to incrementally increase your earnings of Steem and when done repeatedly it adds up.

Thanks for stopping by to read my post!

The dust threshold is still a bit annoying :(

Please give example of upvote reply reward and break down example of resteem reward.

Hi
Sure. I will use Dollars and cents in this example, but we are really talking about STU or Steem Token Units.

Comment rewards:
If you reply to my post, and I upvote your comment, you get the author reward for that comment.
Whomever upvotes your comment gets a share of the curation reward for your comment.
So if your comment reward is 10 cents you get the author reward, which is 75% or 7.5 cents, and the people who upvote your post get a share of the 25% curation reward or 2.5 cents.

ReSteem
If the total value of upvotes on my post is $10.00, I get 75% or $7.50, but the people who upvote my post get to split the curation reward, which is 25% or $2.50.
Now if everyone who Upvotes the post also ReSteems the post, the total reward could go to $20.00.
This means the curation reward which is 25% is now $5.00 so the reward for everyone who Upvotes the post gets a double reward.

Now at the beginning of this reply I said the reward was in Steem Token Units.
Which is abbreviated STU.
Each reward is broken down like this:

The important thing to remember is your rewards are Steem and SBD usually referred to as Steem Dollars.
Their actual value in U.S dollars or other “fiat currency” varies. The price of Steem at its all time high was close to $10.00 so if your reward was 0.10 Steem it wasn’t 10 cents, it was 0.1 x the price of Steem or $1.0 dollar.

@shortsegments

Thanks for explannation. I understand the curation, author reward and the amount shown in USD which is not always equal to SBD. Ok. fine.

But i think, i am confused.
Let have an example.
Suppose, I have resteemed one of your post. Which upvote 10$. Curation will divide by upvoter. What happens to me and those who are my follower and upvoted after my resteem?
Please clarify. I will be thankful to you.
Thanks in advance.
