Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 21/1/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 21/1/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today..

There's a possibility that Steem may fall back down much lower from it's January high and if your thinking $0.39 that you would be wrong again, Steem reached $0.41. We have now had another Bitcoin downwave which was not expected from the recent recovery, this happened yesterday at ⏰12.00, but what's even more interesting about this is how Steem was barely affected, yes sure it did fall to $0.34 yesterday soon after at ⏰12.20, but later it was soon back up and today we have not seen the affects of this yet. Bitcoin's high was at $4075 and fell to $3491, it started recovering crossing the 2nd downwave line but now this 3rd downwave reached into about %80 of the 2nd downwave's fall range regardless Steem remains above $0.30 if remember the last time we were this low the Steem price was under the $0.30 mark. So today we saw Steem start by feeling strong as we ended with yesterday hitting $0.39 and so in the early hours of the morning ⏰01.45 Steem had already reached $0.41 we continued on with $0.41 till around ⏰06.20 when it started falling softly, this soft fall ended at ⏰14.15 where it bottomed reaching $0.38, while not great for buyers if we can keep Steem around the $0.40 mark we can get out of survival this mode soon. If your a buyer then there's some tough decisions to be made either buy now before the price goes up further or take risk in waiting on possibly one of the biggest opportunities to buy Steem as the Steemit account is powering down, Yikes PANIC mode ON! Nope let's not. This whole thing is important because that account holds around 44 million Steem!! If the powerdown's don't stop in 13 weeks time all that Steem will be tokenized meaning the price of Steem will drop by probably ALOT. While this means the end of days for some we still don't know how exactly Steem-INC are handling this move, but what I don't believe is they are running away with the money.. but it does seem more like they are on a mission to protect the Steem due to some threats. If nothing much happens in 2019 then I hope those who are in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting Steem especially if the Steemit account continues to power down over the next few weeks. You should know that Steem at these low prices and with the Steem power-downs we are still on a survival mode era of Steemit.com basically Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's value to tank causing Steem-INC staff reductions, a possible threat to the website and the Steemit account security. The conclusion is to cut down the costs of nodes among other strategies. Hivemind is now live they have decreased the "steemd" instance size's from 488GB RAM to now would you believe 61GB RAM!! There is a focus on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. I also want to point out that we are indeed now nearly out of this whole survival mode situation. Ned also said recently that the cost reduction progress will still remain above creation of the SMT's which I feel is the right move, those who want SMT's will need to wait a little longer. I mentioned the other day how SBD's were strangely falling behind with Steem's growth but yesterday it caught-up and seems to have continued doing better than expected, SBD's reached $0.97 at ⏰00.25 but already dropped off by ⏰02.45 no problem it was still pleasing to see, SBD's fell to the lowest at where we are right now which is $0.91.
