It is yet another opportunity presented in season 5 of the engagement challenge where we get to interact with one another via engaging in the articles written by fellow steemians, I'm delighted to have this opportunity once again. This week's contest from this noble community talks about the sport in my community and it will be my pleasure to share it with you all.

I live in a very small community or you can even call it a village because of the distance from the community to the town where there is more civilization. Due to how small my community is, we only have just one sport place and this sport place is located beside the Ola Girls Secondary School. It is the only football field present in the entire Akpata community.

Because the community is very small, most of the people living in it don't regard sport as anything useful hence creating sporting places is never on the agenda of the leaders of the community. Everything that has to do with sports from the schools around and even with the community youths and elders is all done on this very field.

As I have clearly stated above, I came from a very small community where civilization is quite far from the people. The facilities we have in the only sport place in the community is the field and this field is not very standard because due to rain currently erosion has eaten deep into the field and the goal post we are also using here are not made of irons instead they are made up of woods which we got from cutting down trees.

There are no other facilities present aside from the football and the jersey we manage to purchase so there will be a clear difference between both opponents when the training or the match is been played on the field. The maintenance of the field is done by all the players because we use cutlasses to clear the entire field and keep it clean and tidy.

I have stated this above, the only sport that is practised in my community at this moment is football sport. This is the only sport that does not require many expenses to get started. This sport is mainly practised by the children and youth in the community.

Here both men and women don't put interested in sports at all hence the youth and the children are the only people seeing sports activities as beneficiary activities. Another reason why they only focus on football sport is that most of them are always involved in this betting stuff hence they also watch the ball and play it as well.

As we all know, those who watch ball often can predict better about the team to win a given match and that is the reason both the youth and the children focus on ball playing and watching because most of them make their living by betting using any of the betting companies such as 9ja bet, bet king etc.

Sport is an essential aspect of everyone's life because keeping fit helps your system to fight against any form of illness and also live longer. As a person, I know the importance of sport so much hence I don't always stay without exercising myself every day. Though the only sport currently in my community is football and that also happens to be my favourite sport.
