Assalamu Alaikum. Greetings Steem of Animals community. I hope that by the grace of Allah, you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, I am also doing well. I pray to Allah that we are always doing well.

Today, I have come to participate in a wonderful competition among you. The topic of the competition has been decided as protected animals in my country. We have already completed week 23 and today we have come to participate in the 24th week. In the 24th week, I want to inform you about the extinct animal of our country, the Grey heron, and I want to write a blog. I hope you all enjoy it and we are all invited to today's competition.

Animal population status (mention the name of the animal it comes from...)For example, the Bird of Paradise from Papua, Indonesia

The special animal of the Chordata class is the white heron. Although quite some time ago, this white heron was seen in large numbers around our haors, ponds or water bodies. However, currently this heron is almost extinct. This species of animal called Grey Heron is basically a bird. Because they fly in the sky.

In terms of population, it indicates the position of the largest animal in the world. Basically, this heron is seen in different parts of the world. A large number of white herons are seen in the haor regions of India, North America and Bangladesh. These are basically a bird species.

What causes habitat and environmental changes so that this animal is threatened with extinction or why this animal has become a typical animal of that region or country.

Grey heron is a very popular bird in our country. Especially Grey heron is better known as a carnivorous bird. Most of the hunters in our country hunt this bird and many people hunt this bird as a hobby because it is very tasty to eat.

The only reason why these birds are annoying in our country is overhunting.
Grey heron was seen in large numbers in water bodies, areas around the sea or in bamboo gardens. However, there are some unscrupulous hunters who like to eat bird meat more. And the hunters are constantly killing Grey heron and the birds have left our country's habitat because of fear.

Moreover, these birds mainly lived in bamboo thickets. Since the population of our country is increasing day by day, deforestation and bamboo gardens have to be cut down constantly. And because of this cutting down, the Grey heron birds have lost their habitat.

On the one hand, the fear of unscrupulous hunters, on the other hand, the loss of bus shelters and water bodies. Water bodies are being filled with silt day after day, on the other hand, bamboo groves are being cut down to build houses.

That is, these birds are disappearing from our midst mainly for three reasons

  • Cutting down bamboo groves
  • Water bodies are being filled up
  • Grey heron in the clutches of unscrupulous hunters

Basically, due to the above three reasons,
Grey heron birds have been destroyed from our country and these animals are almost on the verge of extinction. However, sometimes these animals can still be seen on the branches of big mango trees during the rainy season or at the end of winter. However, preserving them is a very important and inseparable matter for us.

Legal Status and Legal Protection (Mention the law that protects the animal. (Please illustrate to the best of your ability)

The government of our country is keeping an eye on the Grey heron bird so that it does not become extinct in our country. A wonderful law was passed in Section 38 (1) of the Government Birds Conservation Act, 2012. It is mentioned that,

If anyone catches, kills or transports a bird, he will be punished with a case of a punishable offence. The person who is involved in this crime will be punished with a minimum of one year of rigorous imprisonment. In default, a fine of one lakh taka will be imposed on him.

Under the same law, if the same person commits the same mistake for the second time, then the next year he will be sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment in default of a fine of two lakh taka.

Basically, this strict law of our country has helped in preserving the birds. However, the Grey herons that fled from our country in fear before 2012 have never returned. Sometimes one or two Grey herons are seen in our country and that is towards the end of winter. Because these birds prefer temperate weather. When it is very cold in foreign countries, these birds come to our country and make their home.

So above all, we should preserve these Grey heron birds. Don't kill them and obey the laws of the country.

Saludos amigo
Gusto en leerte. Los animales son ejemplares maravillosos. Lastima que hayan personas sin escrúpulos tal como tú lo dices , que se dedican a la casa indiscriminada. Te deseo éxitos en concurso.
