That doesn't work for me. my colleagues are also my friends. And since I moved across the world for my job, they're also my only friends. I have no time to find people who don't work in the same industry as me and actually socialise enough with them over a long enough period of time to form friendships.

They're my friendship pool and my dating pool.
I would be alone and miserable if that wasn't the case.
But then I also work in an industry that is very intense and very, very casual at the same time. We are all creative, passionate workaholics and a little bit crazy too. There's no such thing as "suit and tie" where I work. unless it's "fancy friday" at the office haha
I know the work environment we have is unusual. So I guess I'm the exception.
