This Monday 2016-2017 NHL Hockey Night will feature a solid divisional matchup between the Buffalo Sabres and the Boston Bruins. These teams sit very closely in their Atlantic Division, and a win for both teams is essential to move forward and up into a playoff contending position.

Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres have had a few disappointing seasons as of late, pretty much since Hasek retired. They haven't finished too high in the standings and even managed to lose Mcdavid as last years first round draft pick when the Oilers somehow scooped him up. They have however picked up J. Eichel who does look very promising despite suffering an ankle injury early on in the season this year, and they do seem to be on the upswing side of things.
Their 2015-2016 record was 35-36-11, with 81 points. They finished 7th in the Atlantic Division.
Their record this 2016-2017 season so far is 4-4-2 giving them 10 points. They currently sit in 8th place in their Atlantic Division.
The Buffalo Sabres have a few first round draft picks in the up and coming with their leading point scorers being, R.O'Reilly (with 60 points last year), J. Eichel (with 56 points last year), and K. Okposo (with 64 points last year).
The Buffalo Sabres Will be short Jack Eichel, Zach Bogosian, and Evander Kane will probably miss this game as well.
The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team was established in 1970, along with the Vancouver Canucks, when the league expanded to 14 teams. They have played at KeyBank Center since 1996. Prior to that, the Buffalo Sabres played at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium from the start of the franchise in 1970. The Sabres are owned by Terry Pegula and coached by Dan Bylsma.
The team has twice advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals, losing to the Philadelphia Flyers in 1975 and to the Dallas Stars in 1999. The best known line in team history is The French Connection, which consisted of Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin, and Rene Robert. All three players have had their sweater numbers (11, 7 and 14, respectively) retired and a statue erected in their honor at KeyBank Center in 2012. Tim Horton (2), Pat LaFontaine (16), Danny Gare (18) and Dominik Hasek (39) have also had their jersey numbers retired.
So Far This Season
The Buffalo Sabres haven't had the best start this season, but truth be told it's also not the worst start they've had either. They're truly only a couple wins out of a fighting spot depending however they are in the division with Montreal who seem to be off to one hell of a start holding a very solid first overall. The Buffalo Sabres lost their previous game against Toronto by a small margin of 2-1, however, the game before that they did manage to squeak by beating Minnesota who has been playing exceptionally well this season by a score of 2-1.
Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins have been a solid all around team for quite a few years now. After winning the cup in 2011, they have yet to climb back to take the championship again. They finished with a respectable 93 points in their Atlantic Division, but it just wasn't quite enough to secure them a playoff spot. They have experience on their side, and although they did start off a little rough this year, they appear to be playing better and better as time goes on moving up in the rankings.
Their 2015-2016 record was 42-31-9, with 93 points. They finished 4th in the Atlantic Division.
Their record this 2016-2017 season is 6-4-0 giving them 12 points. They currently sit in 5th in their Atlantic Division.
The Boston Bruins have a decent few forward lines as well as Z.Chara leading their defense. Their top players are P.Bergeron (with 68 points last year), D.Krejci (with 63 points last year), and B.Marchand (with 61 points last year).
The Boston Bruins have a few players on Injured Reserve, Frank Vatrano, Brian Ferlin, Kevin Miller, David Backes, and Anton Khudobin. David Backes may potentially be back in playing against the Sabres though.

The first facility to host them was what was then known as the Boston Arena (today's Matthews Arena) — the world's oldest (built 1909–10) indoor ice hockey facility still in use for the sport at any level of competition[2][3] — and following the Bruins' departure from the Boston Arena, the team played its home games at the Boston Garden for 67 seasons, beginning in 1928 and concluding in 1995.
So Far This Season
The Boston Bruins were off to shaky start at the beginning of the season but as of late seem to have really picked things up and are now on the upswing. They won their last game with an impressive win over Tampa Bay with a score of 4-3 taking the win in a shootout, and they also won their game before that against the Florida Panthers in regular time by a score of 2-1.

After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.
