Varicose vein of lower limbs

You might have seen some people who have varicose veins, it is very easy to noticed on lower legs and many people both male and female suffering from it. There are many different reasons why people may develop them such as strong family history, pregnancy, working in standing long hours, getting older and getting heavier. All these factors put pressure on to veins especially to valves that are there and located along the walls, opening only into direction to heart. Due to pressure on valves, they become leaky and not fully closing down that means even through blood moved toward heart, it is till flowing back too increasing the pressure to walls of vein. The veins are then become prominent and the area of valves are looking like soft lumps.

The whole disease is not only cosmetically looking not nice but also people have:

  • swollen legs and not able to wear their shoes or walk long distance as well as stand for long time
  • they had extremely painful legs in the by the end of a day
  • long tern it causes venous insufficiency that could lead to ulceration of legs

Treatment with "ClariVein"

Because the problem is very old and well known to medicine there are many treatment options which depends of stage of disease and some may help an individual but some not.

While working as a surgeon I also had training years in vascular surgery therefore we had removed the superficial veins completely, provided the deep venous system is intact. Any surgery is a great impact and required general anaesthesia and of course prolonged post operative recovery, but surgery is always gives better results then other treatment options.

When @sabrip mentioned ClariVein I thought it would be good to give idea for users about what it is and how it is done.

Clarivein

The procedure does not require any big cuts it goes through the skin with the help of catheter into vein and that is controlled under Ultrasound, the tip of catheter is rotating therefore it can spread sclerosing solution to all the walls of vein.

This way there are two effects of treatment:

  • mechanical
  • sclerosing drug that closes the vein.
