One Year of Steemcurator Job Nov 22-Nov 23
Hello my dear Steemians,
It is November and it is another round number for me, @stef1 became ONE Year Old as Steemcurator!*
When looking back it does not feel like so much time passed since I applied for November 22 and this time I continued the job for a year. I remember every month I was asking myself:
Are you sure you have enough time for doing curation?
My answer to me was:
I do not know, but I want to try
There are some days that I have long shifts of working 8AM till 8:30 PM by the time I am at home it is already 9PM and such long shifts come in a pack of either 3 days of 4 days, those days my curation becomes too tight and I have to catch up on curation after my 12 hours shift
The time when I am working Nights 8PM till 9AM those shifts I am just tired and want to catch up on my sleep and again those days come in a pack of 3 or 4 shifts
On Weekends and days off I had enough time to go through blogs reading and commenting
Curation usually takes minimum of 3-4 hours per curation day that left me no time for my favourite hobbies:
1. drawing and painting
2. my knitting, to tell the truth the jumper that I started about a year ago is still there needs to be finished

It was October 22 when I decided to apply once again for Curator post for November when that time the teams were larger and there were 7 Curators per team. There were many different users from different countries, despite of that we managed to communicate in Discord and work together effectively. A lot of discussion were done in Discord and when there were any issues we have discussed and managed to sort them out.
While November curation I got slowly used to that and decided to reapply and that was for the next 4 month, I was a part of the Curator Team#1 and was one of the 7 curators:
Slowly the number of the Curators was reduced from 7 to 5 initially and then to 4 users. I still decided to continue my work. It was busier but the fact of being able to support users especially from many smaller communities and also from Europe and USA, who are not really taking part in Engagement challenges and often being overseen by Steemcurators. I felt that it was a good opportunity to encourage those users and retain them on Steemit.
Despite of being smaller group I enjoyed being those teams, the curators were often changed but we again and again got together, set up our plans and went ahead.
In June I was not in any curator team but that was fine, it was the month before we have our summer holiday that is why my schedule is very tight.
In July I had another opportunity to be a part of Curator Team and this time it was Team Millionaire. It was different curation that was concentrated on contests, to tell the truth I enjoyed curation of ordinary posts more, because I could enjoy reading the posts and learn more about users, but job is job and it was successfully done.
From August on I am in Curator Team#2, with 4 Curators I was back for free curation and that was something that I liked very much. I enjoyed and enjoying my work and also my colleagues in every team. We are very different but we also have something common and that is dedication to our work of curation, supporting the users their posts and comments, give advises and guidance.

It is very satisfying work being able to support users with good Upvotes. I must note that, unfortunately, there are not many Big Accounts that could support users and that opportunity of being a Steemcurator is a privilege for us users on Steemit to be rewarded for quality content.
There are not many rules that users should follow in order to be seen:
- create original and own content
- not cheating
- Upvoting and commenting others
- do at least 50% Power UP of your liquid content
I hope that will give a hint to users if they want to be seen and to get better reward for their work.
I also want to thank the Steemit Team and @steemcurator01 for the trust and this opportunity to be a Curator for one year time. It was my pleasure to give my input in supporting users on behalf of the Steemit Team.
My professional commitments are slowly increasing and I want to concentrate more on them.
The same time I am planning to return to my regular drawing and painting, that is my hobby that gives me more relaxation and joy and that is what I need now when I am back from work or on weekend.
I will continue actively posting, supporting users, producing my "Spotlight and Support" Initiative and being Steem Representative. I am still active as Moderator of WOX and will be available on discord for advises.
We are planning a small trip for holiday in December that is why we want to enjoy it without any pressure of curation duty.

Also 1 Jahr curator muss erst einmal reichen, und es gibt ja genug “fähige“ Köpfe hier auf Steem die mich ersetzen können. Jetzt werde ich mich wieder etwas mehr um meine Hobbys kümmern, und etwas Zeit in Deutschland verbringen.
Wohl wahr. Von denen ziehen die meisten allerdings lieber (wieder) ihr eigenes Ding durch, was - wenn ich mir die Entwicklung so betrachte - auch weise ist. Und die anderen (stets in der "Warteschleife" präsenten) sind eindeutig in der Überzahl... ;-)

Всегда поражаюсь как ты везде успеваешь.
Как доктор, ты знаешь необходимость полноценного отдыха.
Думаю, декабрь надо немного раздвинуть вширь))
Я знаю, что долго без этих дел ты не усидишь... сделай отдых всё же подольше и сделай его максимально приятным))
Да ты прав, после года работы наверняка надо несколько месяцов отдыха, я наверное так и сделаю. Но кто знает может найду какую нибудь новую обязанность, посмотрим. Сначала в отдых, честно говоря а момента этой почты у меня уже отпускное настроение :)
You have done an excellent job, I know the commitment and responsibility you have when providing support with the Steemcurator account, therefore, those who receive your support should feel very good about the content they have shared.

It is indeed a big workload and I know you yourself went through all that and also might be were close or even like me accomplished your year. It is a great experience and would be good if anyone could feel how it is to be a curator. I definitely will have a nice time in December, that is my favourite month of course, due to Christmas holiday :)

Ich finde es schön, dass du dir die Zeit dafür - für uns - genommen hast. Deshalb auch von mir ein Dankeschön. Ich habe den Job nur ein paar Wochen als Vertretung gemacht - damals noch in einem thematisch gebundenen Team - insofern kann ich in etwa nachvollziehen, was es bedeutet.
Umso verständlicher ist auch dein Wunsch, im Dezember eine Pause zu machen. Genieße die (Weihnachts-)Zeit mit deinen Hobbys und deinen Lieben!

es war für mich ein doch sehr interessantes und arbeitsreiches Jahr auf Steem, und wir wollen mal sehen was das nächste für uns bereithält. Jetzt aber….. werden wir uns erst einmal etwas entspannen, und die kommenden Feiertage mit der Familie genießen.

It was also interesting to see that one username from Nigeria 🙂 always appearing in your team for almost a year. It's always a nice feeling and it looks like he is the only user you have worked with for such a long time.
Thank you, yes, there are many who are doing that longer without interruption. For me it was a kind of explanation why I am not applying this time. It was a long run and I need so rest from that marathon.
Yes, you and me we were for majority time in the same team, but it does not feel like so long, the time is very relative as per Einstein :)
Good job considering how much time it takes out of your everyday life, I'm at least grateful you're the only one from Europe.. You do an important job and keep it decentralized :)

Thank you and I agree such job is very important for such blogging platform, it is encouraging but also make people to visit and support each other, I think I met many more people than when we were in old Steemit, that is the best side of it.
It is not funny, my jumper needs me :) I think if it could have a soul and able to make decision it might have left me by now :)
