A SCAM

in Hindwhale Communitylast month

Hello my friends,

Perhaps everyone has been deceived by someone at some point in their lives. Today, I would like to share a story about a scam that happened to me, so that my colleagues can be alert.

A few days ago, I was checking my email for a business related issue when I noticed an email in my email account about a very attractive deal. This email detailed a highly profitable franchise business.

I don't easily fall for lucrative scams, but this offer appealed to me. I visited the offeror's website, checked all their details, and was satisfied with their business. After three days of thorough research, I responded to the email with a request for a franchise application form.

Within about 24 hours, I received another email from them, providing the application form and a phone number, with the assurance that if I had any inquiries, I should contact this authorized person.

I filled out the form, attached the required documents, and submitted it to the company's email address.

Three days later, I received another email congratulating me and appointing me as a franchisee. Among the terms and conditions, I was given a bank account number and instructed to deposit the registration fee into it. I checked my account and deposited the registration fee (I won't mention the amount). Everything seemed normal.

But two days later, I received a contract form from the company, in which I was given a different bank account number to deposit a large sum as contract fees and security deposit. Seeing the new account, I was shocked. I checked it, but it didn't seem right, so I didn't deposit the large amount.

Then, I investigated the matter thoroughly and found that a former employee of the company, who was aware of the entire matter, was defrauding people by creating a fake email account.

I have now filed a complaint against that person with the Cyber Cell branch. I will have him arrested soon.

Today I am sharing this with all my friends so that one should never get lured by any very profitable offer and should invest money only after thoroughly investigating it.
