Albinism Produce Vitamin D Five Times Faster Than Dark-Skinned People

in #pigment23 days ago
The amount of pigment or melanin in the skin determines the color of a person's skin. In some conditions, melanin production can be disrupted, making the skin color change. This condition can be caused by many things, and one of them is pigmentary disorders. Human skin color is very diverse. People with albinism have the following signs and characteristics:
  • Hair color will appear white, but this hair color may change to darker as it matures
  • Eye color will look light blue to brown
  • Skin color will look white

People with albinism produce vitamin D five times faster than dark-skinned people. Lack of melanin can make it easier to enter and seep into the skin during exposure to UV rays from the sun. As a result, albinos are more at risk of sunburn.
