Introducing the Starfish

Starfish's life's and habitat

Starfishes are one of the most beautiful underwater creature. Though I haven't seen one actually, I do know that starfishes also known as the sea star is a beautiful creature that lives deep down the ocean. It has a soft body and no backbone.

It's body structure

They starfish has a soft body with no backbone. They also come in different coloursThey usually have five arms however, they are species that can have up to fifty arms. Amazing I would say.

How it feeds

The starfish has a unique method of feeding, it brings it digestive part out, to attach to it's hosts and extract their nutrition directly or if the host are small enough they swallow it whole. Quite fierce for a creature as beautiful as it.

Steps I took in drawing the starfish

Step 1: drawing the starfish skeletal structure i.e; four lines as shown in the image below. The line doesn't have to be straight as the starfish is not a rigid structure. I also made sure to use faint lines, so as to enable edits later.

Step 1: I drew the skeletal structure

Step 2: now we draw the tentacles following the structure we drew earlier. Its looking more like a starfish now.

Step 2: I added the tentacles

Step 3:I took further steps by shading, to give it more depth and detail. This took me quite some time and gave me the hardest time.

Step 4: Then i finally added stones, and some sea shells to make our star fish less lonely.

Differences between a kite and a starfish

• Starfish belongs to the sea while the kite is a bird.
• the star fish has tentacles for movement wile the kite has wings for flight.
• the kite regenerative ability pales in comparison to the starfish's.

Conclusion

Do you know: The starfish is not actually a fish. This is simply because it has no backbone.
