Nugget Point New Zealand
Our fith and final stop of our Catlins adventures while we were exploring the south island of New Zealand.
The Catlins is such a beautiful stretch of the coast line in southern New Zealand between Balclutha and Invercargill. One side you have stunning beaches and coastline and on the other is dense rainforest with breath taking waterfalls.
So let's continue with our adventure and share with you some photos from Nugget point.
Nugget point is the most stunning look out in the Catlins.
The tip of the point is home to a light house that over looks 20 wave eroded rocks also known as the nuggets.
From the carpark it is about a 12 minute walk to the light house.
It was overcast and just started to rain.
Just be careful and stick to the track as the walking track weaves along the cliff with no safety barrier, and it's a long way down.
There are stunning views of rock formations as you make your way along the track.
Trees along here are where seabirds call home.
Then once you turn the first corner you get a glimpse of the light house.
This is such an amazing view!
Once we got to the light house we could see seals playing in the water.
There is a couple of seats there to sit back and relax and take in this amazing view.
Nugget point is definitely a must do when visiting the south island at the bottom of the world in New Zealand.

The place looks magical. Can you reach to the top of the light house? Is it allowed?
The light house was closed and locked up, so we couldn't go into the light house unfortunately.
