You Are Blocked - like other bots

Let's be honest for a change, since it won't help those writing here and being rejected on Steemit, especially if we all keep lying.
It's a fact that Steemit has issues - again. This won't make it for all curators easier either.
At least since December 1st, 2025, I have, like many others, had issues signing in on this platform. We, @solperez and I @wakeupkitty, thought it would be smart to use steemit.moecki.online, and indeed, for a few days that seemed to work.
This entire week we struggle to have access.
The reason is that steemit.com (open source) did an attempt to keep the bots outside, and certain IP addresses are blocked.
This might sound like a good idea, whereas this also means that many active Steemians are blocked as well and the mood and trust put in Steemit is about -6 degrees by now.
Apparantly, IP addresses from the Netherlands (the own private home) are labelled as bot, scam, spam, unwanted.
Today I tested it and quess what? I do have have access if I use a VPN (!) and pretend I am in the USA.
Comments
The comments are boycotted. Maybe you did not notice it because you are rarely present and hardly comment, but for commenters, it is a misery. For sure, other curators willing to upvote comments noticed that one comment doesn't show up or later appears 3 times (they can be removed as long as no one replied or upvoted the comment).
The Wallet
It's no longer possible to power up wallets of someone else! If it safe to say you should use your wallet right now? I would say: No. better safe, than sorry.
Attacked
Since today Steemit is under attack (how come a certain person comes to mind right now who promised to make a copy of Steemit and all the accounts' info included?).
The difficult access is no longer a fact for those labelled as a bot (you know, that slow internet connection, the shoving with pieces of a puzzle, the typing of unreadable letters or numbers, not to mention clicking on all motorbikes for at least 6 times).
Solutions?
Some do work behind the screens to make access for every motivated Steemian again. Right now, some testing is being done and I hope that very soon everything is back to normal again.
Note: For now all payments have to wait.

As I said to you, IP addresses from the Netherlands should not be blocked.
However, it may be that your IP address is in an address range from which suspicious requests have been sent. I already offered to let me know your IP address (private) ... or the first two octets. Then I will check whether your IP address is in a blocked range.
Unfortunately, I also had to block some IP address ranges because I received a large number of requests that clearly could not have come from users. Due to these numerous requests, many real users were no longer able to access the site.
If there is a problem with my site, you know how to contact me.
Who promised that?

I hope this scenario doesn't come to pass. Although there are signs of a grim future.
It's not just NL but also: Cuba, Venezuela, and many others who are blocked. Can is be your site (and steemit.com) blocks everyone with a slow(er) connection?
Remember: punicwax? I had a very interesting chat with the owner and what is planned.
IP: 143.179 (right now can be it changes like many providers do with us) - this one is Odido but the VPN has the same issues except I go for America or Japan.
Check my link and you know how I solved my problem.
Thanks for stopping by and trying.

No. I don't think that's possible.
Puniwax? I haven't heard anything really meaningful from him so far. I only see the superfluous comments. I also don't know who the owner is.
You mean steemistry.com? Seems to be another fork of the condenser. So it is good to have some alternatives. But do you know, who runs the site? As I know the domain was owned by an user, who is no longer active.

Are the servers too busy? There must be a reason for not being able to enter and next all the errors
I bought the domain so it's me.
If I have more time I will see if I can find the owner since she (more likely a group) spoke several times with me as they just started and later on as well. Of cource I have a tech phobia because I don't like these comments.
Phobia the word people say because they have no explaination or can't win the discussion.

I created my version for exactly the same reason. I simply wanted to use my own platform. Perhaps a little more reliable and with the latest changes.
Exactly! I had received feedback from other users that the site was no longer accessible or was reporting errors. I realised that I was receiving up to 1 million unique visitors and several million requests per day at times. The pattern of the requests made it clear that they could not be coming from human users. Many of the requests came from Singapore and Latin America. You probably followed this on the witness channel. To stop the requests initially, I had to block certain countries. Unfortunately, this also affects 'normal' users.
Currently, I have about 300K users and have received around 9 million requests in the last 24 hours. My server can handle this. Even though I know that most of the traffic is generated by bots, there is currently no need for action. But I have to keep an eye on it.
I suspect that your site will also receive such requests soon if it is accessible for a while and becomes better known...

Very interesting, thanks for the links.
An own blockchain... I already thought about it and have already received enquiries about this. Sure, you could implement a lot more of your own rules there than would (perhaps) be possible on Steem, but at the moment I don't have the resources for that.
A super creative day/week

@ wakeupkitty
