This time I found an interesting theme in the weekly challenge. The theme is “Gift that can impress me.”, this is very cool and not to be missed. Here are my answers to the questions given.
| Is there any history behind the formation of your national flag? If so, what happened? |

Remembering the history of my birth country's flag reminds me of the history of Indonesian independence in 1445. When Indonesia had just successfully fought for and proclaimed independence from Dutch and Japanese colonization. As for the Indonesian people, they chose a simple red and white flag design. Behind the simple red and white color, there is a huge meaning. The red color of the flag means brave and while the white color has a holy meaning.

The main purpose of the simple flag design with only 2 colors is that the Indonesian nation contains sufficient courage in fighting the invaders. As for the white color of the flag itself, it will be a symbol of the purity and sincerity of the hearts of the Indonesian people in order to defend and fight for the independence of the Indonesian homeland.
The first person we sewed the Red and White flag to be used in the Proclamation of Independence of the Indonesian homeland was Mrs. Fatmawati. She is a woman who is a warrior because she has a very important role in the struggle for the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

Indonesia has gone through difficult times in fighting for and proclaiming the independence of its homeland in 1945, then Indonesia began to grow and develop to rival surrounding countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Even now Indonesia has been able to compete with developed countries around the world. It is only natural because Indonesia is not a small country but a large country that has many islands and abundant natural resources.
After independence, the Red and White Flag of Indonesia began to fly at the UN office, even now it is often flown in several countries in the world, because Indonesia is present participating in sports, participating in cooperation in the world and others.

You can see that I have struggled to climb one of the mountains in Aceh, precisely Mount Burni Telong and when I arrived at the top I raised the red and white flag as proof of love for the Indonesian homeland.

It becomes really difficult for a country to be absorbed by two countries in succession or to spend its life as a colony of two countries. Because no one from outside the country wants to develop our country. They all want to exploit and steal wealth from other countries to smuggle into their own country. Your country was exploited by these two countries Dutch and Japan which is really a black chapter in your history. After independence, the citizens of your country adopted the flag of red and white colors. The white color represented the unity of all of your country and the red color represented the blood of the martyrs who lost their lives for the freedom of your country. We know that Indonesia is an independent country. And the combination of two colors make the national flag of Indonesia. But I came to know by reading your and other Indonesian user's posts. In fact, the history of Indonesia's independence and our Bangladesh's independence are almost similar. Your Indonesia was first freed from the tyranny of the Dutch and then subjected to more severe torture by the Japanese. Our Bangladesh has also faced a similar incident. First British and then Pakistan.
But reading your post I learned a lot about your country.
